HomeMy WebLinkAbout1542r s r 3._ er-",,, 1 ORDINANCE NO. 2 AN ORDINANCE relating to planning and ! rezoning for land use and development in the 3 City of Kent, Washington, and rezoning a portion of certain property originally zoned 4 by the City of Kent by Ordinance No. 10719 as amended, as R-1 (Single Family Residential) 5 zone to R-3 (Multiple Family Residential) zone. 6 WHEREAS, certain land was originally zoned by the City 7 of Kent by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, entitled "Zoning a 8 Ordinance for the City of Kent, Washington," passed by the City i 9 Council on the 15th day of September,, 1960s and i 10 WHEREAS, the effective date of the zoning of said certain 11 land by said Ordinance No. 1071 and the effective date of said 12 Ordinance No. 1071, itself, was the 3rd day of October, 1960, 13 and 14 WHEREAS, as required by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, 15 the City Council, after referral, study by and a public hearing 16 before the Planning Commission of the City of Kent, wherein it 17 was recommended that said land be rezoned from R-1 (Single Family 18 Residential) zone to R-3 (Multiple Family Residential) zone, and 19 WHEREAS, it is found that said rezone is in the best 20 interests of the health, welfare and morals of the Citizens of 21 the City of Kent and is consistent with the comprehensive plan of 22 I the City of Kent and consistent with good planning, and 23 WHEREAS, thereafter the City Council of the City of Kent! 24 f' did, upon the 7th day of October, 1968, hold a public hearing 25 on said recommendation insofar as it related to said certain lands„ d 26 said public hearing being held after proper notice thereof, NOW, 27 THEREFORE, 28 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO 29 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 30 Section 1. The following described land, situated in 31 ' the City of Kent, County of King, State of Washington, and 32 -1- . 5.65 219 y 1 presently zoned as R-1 (Single Family Residential) zone and more 2 particularly described as follows: 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 Tract 39 - Horseshoe Acre Tract is hereby rezoned to R-3 (Multiple Family Residential) zone. Section 2. The City Engineer of the City of Kent be and he is hereby authorized and directed to indicate upon the s Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent, or upon an adden- dum thereto, the zoning of said property as provided for in Section 1 of this Ordinance. Section 3. That upon said amendment being shown upon the Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent, or upon an addendum thereto, the copy of said map or addendum shall be filed with the County Auditor of King County, Washington, and the City 14 Clerk of the City of Kent be and she is hereby authorized and 15 directed to record this Ordinance with the County Auditor of King, 16 County and pay the filing fee therefor. ¢' 17 ?!
