2 AN ORDINANCE relating to planning and
rezoning for land use and development in the
3 City of Kent, Washington, and rezoning a
portion of certain property originally zoned by
4 the City of Kent by Ordinance No. 1071, as
amended, as R-3 (Multiple Family Residential)
5 zone to R-4 (Multiple Family Residential) zone.
6 WHEREAS, certain land was originally zoned by the City
7 of Kent by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, entitled "Zoning
8 Ordinance for the City of Kent, Washington," passed by the City
9 Council on the 15th day of September, 1960, and
10 WHEREAS, the effective date of the zoning of said certain
11 land by said Ordinance No. 1071 and the effective date of said
12 Ordinance No. 1071, itself, was the 3rd day of Octob er, 1960,

WHEREAS, as required by Ordinance No.
1071, as amended,

the
City Council, after referral, study by and
a public hearing
16
before the Planning Commission of the City of
Kent, wherein it
17
was
recommended that said land be rezoned from
R-3 (Multiple Fam-
18
ily
Residential) zone to R-4 (Multipb Family Residential) zone,
19
an d
20
WHEREAS, it is found that said rezone
is in the best
21
interests
of the health, welfare and morals of
the Citizens of
22 the City of Kent and is consistent with the comprehensive plan of
23
the City of Kent and consistent with good planning, and
24
WHEREAS, thereafter the City Council of the City of Kent
25
did, upon the 16th day of September, 1968, hold a public hearing
26
on said recommendation insofar as it related to said certain lands,,
27
said public hearing being held after proper notice thereof, NOW,

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO

ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

32 Section 1. The following described land, situated in
the City of Kent, County of King, State of Washington, and

1 presently zoned as R-3 (Multiple Favi ly Residential) zone and more
2 particularly described as follows:
3 Lots 1 thru 4, Block 20, 4as in oto Central
Improvement Co's lst Addition to Kent and adjacent
4 land lying South of Pioneer $treet.
5 is hereby rezoned to R-4 (Multioler,,M&Inily Residential) zone.
6 Section 2. The City Engineer of the City of Kent be
7 and he is hereby authorized and directed to indicate upon the
B Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent, or upon an
9 addendum thereto, the zoning of said property as provided for
10 in Section 1 of this Ordinance.
11 Section 3. That upon said amendment being shown upon
12 the Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent, or upon an
13 addendum thereto, the copy of said map or addendum shall be filed
14 with the County Auditor of King County, Washington, and the City
15 Clerk of the City of Kent be and she is hereby authorized and
16 directed to record this Ordinance with the County Auditor of King
17 County and pay the filing fee therefor.
18 Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
19 force five days from and after its passage, approval and publica-
20 tion, as provided by law
