AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington annexing to the City certain lands

contiguous thereto and commonly referred to 'a
as the "SUNRAY ANNEXATION." `'
WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35.13 of the Laws of the
State of Washington, the owners of not less than seventy-five per `TM
cent (75%) in value according to the assessed valuation for genera4
taxation of certain lands situated in King County, Washington,

and more particularly described hereinafter in this Ordinance,
filed with the City Council of the City of Kent their Petition in ;

writing to have annexed to the City the said described land and
12 WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35.13 of the Laws of the
13 State of Washington, various proceedings were had and
14 WHEREAS, within sixty (60) days of the filing of the I-
15 notice of intention of said annexation, the jurisdiction of the
10 King County Boundary Review Board was invoked and thereafter
17 following procedures as set forth in RCW 36.93 of the Laws of the
1s State of Washington, the Boundary Review Board after hearing there -
19 on and pursuant to King County Review Board file no. A-409 modified
20 saidaznexation petition by addition of approximately fourteen (14)
21 additional acres to said annexation, the legal description of which
22 hereafter follows and
23 WHEREAS, thereafter public hearings were held on said
24 modified annexation, pursuant to proper notices therefor before
25 the Kent City Council and
26 WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
27 Kent, Washington, that said petition as modified by the King
23 County Review Board meets the requirements specified by law, the
29 procedures from the filing with the City of Kent by the requisite
30 number of property owners of their notice of intention to commence
31 annexation proceedings, to and including the consideration of the
32 passage of this Ordinance, meet with the requirements specified

8 the County of King, State of Washington, to -wit:
9 The East 20 feet of the Southwest 1/4 of the
SoutheAst 1/4 in Section 17, Township 22 North,
10 R 5, EWM. , and the Southeast 1/4 of the South-
east 1/4 in said Section; EXCEPT that portion
11 in Ord-inance No. 1298 of the City of Kent and
12 EXCEPT that portion lying within SE 240th Street.
Section 2. That the property hereby annexed shall be
13
14 assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as
15 other property within the City of Kent is assessed and taxed to
16 pay for any outstanding general indebtedness of the City to
17 which the area was annexed and which was contracted prior to or
1a in existence at the effective date of this annexation.
19 Section 3. That upon the 20th day of October, 1968, the
20 annexation of said property will become effective and said
21 property shall become a part of the City of Kent, subject to all
22 of the City laws and ordinances then and thereafter in effect,
23 except as otherwise provided by law.
24 Section 4. Notice is hereby given that as of the effec-
25 tive date of this annexation all franchises or permits heretofore
26 granted to any person, firm or corporation by the State of Wash -
27 ington, or by the governing body of the annexed territory, author
23 izing or otherwise permitting the operation of any public trans -
29 portation, garbage collection and/or disposal or other similar
30 public service business or facility within the limits of the
31 annexed territory are cancelled; but the holder of any such fran-
32 chise or permits herewith cancelled are herewith granted by the

Section 1. That

4 Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
4T 5 force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
