2 AN ORDINANCE of the city of Kent, Wash-
ington, annexing to the City certain lands

CD VCS WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35.13 of the Laws of the

State of Washington, the owners of not less than seventy-five per
cent (750) in value, according to the assessed valuation for
7
general taxation, of certain lands situated in King County, Wash -
8
ington, and more particularly described hereinafter in this
10 Ordinance, filed with the City Council of the City of Kent their
11 petition in writing to have annexed to said City the said describ-
12 ed land, and
13 WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35.13 of the Laws of the
14 State of Washington, various proceedings were had; and within
15 sixty (60) days of the filing of the notice of intention of said
16 annexation the jurisdiction of the King County Boundary Review
17 Board was not involved and, therefore, said annexation is deemed
18 by statute to be approved by said Boundary Review Board and further
19 public hearings having been heard as required by law,, and
20 WHEREAS,, it appears to the City Council of the City of
21 Kent that said petition meets the requirements specified by law,
22 that procedures from the filing with the City of Kent by the
23 requisite number of property owners of their notice of intention
24 to commence annexation proceedings to and including the considera-
25 tion of the passage of this Ordinanceg meet with the requirements
26 specified by law and the lands sought to be annexed are contiguous
27 to the City of Kent and have not heretofore been incorporated in

4- or as a City or Town.
29 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
30 WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
31 Section 1. That there shall be annexed to the City of
32 Kent the following described land,, situated in the County of
King, State of Washington, to -wit:

That portion of the 114W 1/4 of Section 29,
Township 22 North, Range 5 East, W.M. , and of

the SW 1/4 of Section 20, Township 22 North,
Range 5 East, W.M. , described as follows:

Beginning at a Doint of intersection on the
south line of Kent Kangley Road (also known as

Secondary SH #5-a) with the intersection of the

west line of Benson Highway (also known as 104th

Ave. SE. ) being the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING of
property herein described as follows: thence

east along said south line and the south line of

S. E. 256th St. 541.33 ft. ; thence ISI 2014147" E

1334.60 ft. to the north line of the SE 1/4 of

the SW 1/4 of Said Section 20; thence /#

the west margin of 104th Ave. SE; thence south

along said west margin to the TRUE POINT OF BEG-
INNING.

Section 2. That the property hereby annexed shall be
11
assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as
12
other property within the City of Kent is assessed and taxed, to
13
pay for any outstanding general indebtedness of the City to
14
which the area was annexed and which was contracted prior to or
15
in existence at the effective date of this annexation.

Section 3. That upon the �) c) ,day of August, 1968, the
17
annexation of said property will become effective, and said

property shall become a part of the City of Kent, subject to
19
all of the City Laws and Ordinances then and thereafter in effect
20

except as otherwise provided by law.
Section 4. Notice is hereby given that as of the effec-
22
tive date of this annexation, all franchises or permits hereto-
23

fore granted to any person, firm or corporation by the State of
25
Washington or by the governing body of the annexed territory
26
authorizing or otherwise permitting the operation of any Dublic
27
transportation, garbage collection and/or disposal or other
28
similar public service, business or facility within the limits
29
of the annexed territory are cancelled; that the holder of any
30
such franchises or permits herewith cancelled or any other
31
franchises or Dermits granted by the authorities governing the
32
territory annexed herein upon the effective date of this annexa-
tion are herewith granted by the City of Kent a franchise or

1 permit to continue such business within the annexed territory for
2 a period up to ten (10) years from the effective date of this
