HomeMy WebLinkAbout1522A1 ORDINANCE N0. 2 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash- ington, declaring an emergency, making appro- 3 Driations and providing for the issuance of a warrant for payment of the City of Kent's 4 water assessments in the amount of $18,860.03 under City of Kent Local Improvement District 3 No. 2.52. 6 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KEMT, VIASHINGTON, DO 7 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 8 Section 1. That in order to pay for the assessments 9 against property owned and controlled by the City of Kent under 10 Local Improvement District No. 2529 it is necessary to appropriate 11 funds therefor at this time which have not been budgeted for in 12 the Budget of the City of Kent for the fiscal year 1968. 1.3 Section 2. That this action is necessary to enable the 14 City to avoid payment of interest on said assessments and the 15 breakdown of said assessments by number and department is as 16 follows: 17 Assessment Number Department Amounts 18 No. 56 TL47 Street - McNae $ 25.28 Sec. 11-22-4 property 19 No. 60 TL 25 Sewage Tre at - 20 Sec. 11-22-4 ment $ 6,120.90 21 Sewage Treat - No. 99 TL 27 g 2 12,713.85 18,834.75 2 Sec. 23-22-4 ment 23 GRAND TOTAL -WATER 24 ASSESSMENT L.I.D.Ea. NO. 2 5 2 -- 25 Section 3. That an emergency exists due to thesitua- 26 tion as set forth in Sections 1 and 2 of this Ordinance which 27 could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of the prepar+ 28 ation of the budget for the year 1968 and, therefore, there is at 29 this time as necessary to sustain the proper operation, efficiency 30 and protection of the Citizens of the City of Kent for the balance 31 of fiscal year 1968 an emergency appropriation is herewith made of 32 $18,860.03 for the payment of the assessments against Dropert- -1- 1 owned by the City of Kent under Kent Local Improvement District 2 No. 252. Such emergency warrants to bear interest at the rate of 3 a maximum of 6% per annum from the date of issuance until paid. 4 Section 4. This Ordinance shall not be voted on until 3 at least one (1) week has elapsed after its introduction and for 6 passage shall require the vote of one ( 1) more than the majority 7 of all members of the Kent City Council and be approved by the 8 Mayor. 9 Section 5. Any taxpayer may appear at the meeting at 10 which time this emergency Ordinance is voted upon and be heard for 11 or against the adoption thereof. 12 Section 6. This Ordinance shall be voted upon at the 13 regular meeting of the kent City Council in the Council Chamb ers 14 at the Kent City Hall at 8:00 O' Clock P.M.,x Monday, August 51, 1968 15and a copy of this Ordinance shall be published in the official 16 city newspaper once prior to said date as notice of said meeting 17 and proposed action. i8 Section 7.
