AN ORDINANCE approving and confirming the
assessments and assessment roll of Local Im-
provement District No. 252, which has been
created and established for the purpose of
improving the City of Kent North Industrial
water mains, together with valves, fittings,
fire hydrants and appurtenances, as -provided
i
by Ordinance No. 1463, and levying and assess-
ing the amount thereof against the several
lots, tracts, parcels of land and other prop-
erty shown on the roll.
WHEREAS, the assessment roll levying the special

assessments against properties located in Local Improvement
District No. 252 in the City of Kent, 4fashington, created
under Ordinance No. 1463, has been filed with the Clerk of
the City of Kent, as provided by law; and
WHEREAS, notice of the time and place of hearing
thereon and of making objections and protests to said roll
was duly published at and for the time and in the manner
provided by late*, fixing the time and place of hearing thereon
for the 17th day of June, 1963, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock
p.m. (PDST), in the Council Chambers of the City Hall in the
City of Kent, Washington, and further notice thereof was duly
mailed by the City Clerk to each property owner shown on said
22roll; and
23 WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed and designated

25 i tests received were duly considered and all persons appearing

26 i at such hearing were heard and, as the result of such protests
I
27 1;1 received and requests for changes and modifications of assess -
28 '1! ments on such assessment roll made, the City Council determined

29 i! to make certain changes, modifications and reductions on such

30 roll and overruled all other written protests received and
31 denied all other requests for changes of assessments on such

assessment roll, NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF KENT, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN
as follows:
Section 1. The changes, modifications and reductions
of assessments on the assessment roll of Local Improvement
District No. 252, as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto
and by this reference made a part hereof, are hereby ordered

to be made.

Section 2. The assessments and assessment roll of
Local Improvement District No. 252, which has been created and
established for the purpose of improving the City of Kent
North Industrial Area by constructing and installing public
water mains, together with valves, fittings, fire hydrants
and appurtenances, as provided by Ordinance No. 1463, as the
same now stand after the changes, modifications and reductions
made thereon as set forth in Section 1 hereof, be and the same
are hereby in all things and respects approved and confirmed
in the total amount of O U,?6 57-•97
Section 3. Each of the lots, tracts, parcels of
land and other property shown upon the roll is hereby deter-
mined and declared to be specially benefited by said improve-
ments in at least the amount charged against the same and the
assessment appearing against the same is in proportion to the
several assessments appearing upon said roll. There is hereby
levied and assessed against each lot, tract, parcel of land
and other property appearing upon said toll the amount finally
charged against the same thereon.
Section 4. The assessment roll as approved and
confirmed shall be filed with the Treasurer of the City of Kent;
for collection and said City Treasurer is hereby authorized
and directed to publish notice as required by law stating that
said roll is in his hands for collection and payment of any

assessment thereon or any portion of said assessment can be
made at any time within thirty days from the date of the first
publication of said notice without penalty, interest or cost,

and that thereafter the sum remaining unpaid may be

ten equal annual installments
with interest thereon

annum. The first installment

of assessments on said assessment
roll shall become
due and

payable during the thirty -day
period succeeding the
date one

year after the date of first
publication by the City
Treasurer

of notice that the assessment
roll is in his hands
for

collection and annually thereafter each succeeding installment
11 shall become due and payable in like manner. If the whole or
12 any portion of the assessments remains unpaid after the first
13 thirty -day period, interest upon the whole unpaid summ shall be
14 charged at the rate of Gia per annum and each year thereafter
15 one of said installments, together with interest due on the
16 whole unpaid balance, shall be collected. Any installment not
17 paid prior to the expiration of the said. thirty -day period
18 during which such installment is due and payable shall there -

upon become delinquent. All delinquent installments shall be
subject to a charge for interest at 6% per annum and for an
additional charge of 5;10 penalty levied upon both principal and
interest due'upon such installment or installments. The
collection of such delinquent installments will be enforced in
the manner provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor
of the City of Kent, Washington, at a regular meeting thereof,
this lst day of July, 1968.
