AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, annexing }
to the City certain lands contiguous thereto.
IN
WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35.13 of the Laws of the,
State of Washington, the owners of not less than seventy-five
percent (75%) in value, aecording to the assessed valuation for k
;general taxation, of certain lands situated in King County, Wash-
8 ?i_ngton, and more particularly described hereinafter in this
9 EOrdinance, filed with the City Council of the City ,of Kent their --
10 ;'petition in writing to have annexed to said City the said
11; described land, and

WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35.13of the Laws of the
State of Washington various proceedings were had; and within
I
sixty (60) daysof the filing of the notice of intention of said
annexation the jurisdiction of the King County Boundary Review
Board was not involved and, therefore, said annexation is deemed
,statute to be approved by said Boundary Review Board and further
public hearings having been heard as required by law, and

WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Kent that said Petition meets the requirements specified by law,
that procedures from the filing with the City of Kent by the
requisite number of property owners of their notice of intention
to commence annexation proceedings to and including the considera-
tion of the passage of this Ordinance, meet with the requirements
specified by law and the lands sought to be annexed are contiguous
to the City of Kent and have not heretofore been incorporated in
or as a City or Town,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

The S 537.90 ft. of the SE 1/4 of the SE 1/4
of Sec. 3, Twp. 22 N. , Range 4 E. , ^J.M. in
King County, Washington, EXCEPT the E 795 ft.
of the ISI 330 ft. thereof; the S 208 ft. of the
SW 1/4 of the S 11/4 in Sec. 2, Twp. 22 'NI. ,
Range 4 in King County, Washington
lying W of the E line of Russell Road. That
portion of the TwW 1/4 in Sec. 11, Twp. 22 N., Range
4 E1,1, W.M. lying tied of the E line of Russell Road
and 11 of the N line of S 212th St. in King County,
Washington; that portion of the NE 1/4 of Sec.

annexed shall be

the same rate and
on the
same basis as other
12 "property within the City of Kent is assessed and taxed, to pay
13 'for any outstanding general indebtedness of the City tD which the
14 ::area was annexed and which was contracted prior to or in existence
15 at the effective date of this annexation.
16 ,i} Section 3. That upon the 20th day of April ,
17 ',,'1968
i1968 the annexation of said property will become effective, and
18 ':said property shall become a part of the City of Kent, subject to
19 � all of the City Laws and Ordinancesthen and thereafter in effect,
20 excerpt as otherwise provided by law.
21 Section 4. Notice is hereby given that as of the
22 `ieffective date of this annexation all franchises or permits here -
23 I�tofore granted, to any person, firm or corporation by the State
24 oIof Washington or by the governing body of the annexed territory
25 'Jauthorizing or otherwise permitting the operation of any public
26 (transportation, garbage collection and/or disposal or other
27 Vimilar public service business or facility within the limits of
28 ;the annexed territory are cancelled; but the holder of any such
29 -franchises or permits herewith cancelled are herewith granted by
30 Ii the City of Kent, a franchise to continue such business within
31

1 the annexed territory for a period of five (54) years from the
C"') 2 effective date of this annexation. I

IKt 3 Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in

5 tion as provided by law.
