2 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, annexing
to the City certain lands contiguous thereto.

4 '�' WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35.13 of the Laws of the
5 ""°'hate of Washington, the owners of not less than seventy-five
6 .percent (75%) in value, according to the assessed valuation for

7 ;;general taxation, of certain lands situated in King County, Wash -
8 :;inuton, and more particularly described hereinafter in this
9 'Ordinance, filed with the City Council of the City of Kent their
10 'petition in writing to have annexed to said City the said
11 !described land, and
12 WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35.13 of the Laws of the

State of Washington various proceedings were had; and within
Sixty (60) days of the filing of the notice of intention of said
annexation the jurisdiction of the King County Boundary Review
Board was not involved and, therefore, said annexation is deemed
v
)y statute to be
approved by
said
Boundary Review
Board and further'
-)ublic hearings
having been
heard
as required by
law, and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Kent that said petition meets the requirements specified by law,
that procedures from the filing with the City of Kent by the
requisite number of p-vperty owners of their notice of intention
to commence annexation proceedings to and including the considera-
tion of the passage of this Ordinance,meet with the requirements
specified by law and the lands sought to be annexed are contiguous
to the City of Kent and have not heretofore been incorporated in
or as a City or Town,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

more or less to the true point of beginning.
Section 2. That the property hereby annexed shall be
assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as other
'property within the City of Kent is assessed and taxed, to pay
for any outstanding general indebtedness of the City to which the
urea was annexed and which was contracted prior to or in existence
3.t the effective date of this annexation.
Section 3. That upon the 20th day of April
1968 the annexation of said property will become effective, and sa
property shall become a part of the City of Kent, subject to a.11
of the City Laws and Ordinances and then and thereafter in effect,
except as otherwise provided by law.
Section 4. Notice is hereby given that as of the
effective date of this annexation all franchises or permit here-
tofore granted, to any person, firm or corporation by the State
f Washington or by the governing body of the annexed territory

;;authorizing or otherwise permitting the operation of any public
2 ;(transportation, garbage collection and/or disposal or other

3 i1similar public service business or facility within the limits of
4 >!the annexed territory are cancelled; but the holder of any such
5 !franchises or hermits herewith cancelled are herewith granted by
6 tithe City of. Kent, a franchise to continue such business within
7 'the annexed territory for a period of five O "years from the
8 ;effective date of this annexation.

Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
