1 ORDINANCE NO._JL`a
2 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, vacating
certain real property abutting upon a City
3 street or alley within the City Limits of the
4 City of. Kent.
5 WHEREAS, the owners of more than two-thirds of the
following described real property, located in the City of Kent,.

County of King, State of Washington, and which is more fully
8 described hereafter, have petitioned the Kent City Council
9 to vacate said real property, and
10 WHEREAS, thereafter, the Kent City Council did by
lI motion, fix a time when said Petition would be heard and
12
determined by the Kent City Council or a committee thereof, to -
13 wit Monday, the 19th day of June, 1967, at the hour of 8:00
14 O'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of the
15 City of Kent, Washington, and
16
WHEREAS, after the passage of said motion, the City
-
17 Clerk of the City of Kent gave twenty (20) days notice of the
18 pendency -of said Petition by a written notice posted in three
19 of the most public places in the City of Kent and a like notice
20
in a conspicuous place on the street or alley sought to be
21 vacated; sad public notice containing the information required
22
therein by the Laws of the State of Washington and the Ordinanceo 23 -
of the City of Kent, and

24 WHEREAS, said Petitioners when filing their said Petitigpn
25 '' with the Kent City Clerk, accompanied it with the required street ,
and alley vacation permit fee of $50,00, and

27 WHEREAS, the Kent City: Engineer has processed said
28 Petition and secured the .technical facts pertinent to the
29 question of said vacation which includes a sketch of the proposed
30 vacation and also written approval or rejection thereof by the
31 water, sewer and street departments of the City of Kent, and

1 WHEREAS, thereafter, said Petition, along with said

technical information, was referred to the Planning Commission
of Kent for consideration at its next regular meeting,
3
of the City

favorably on said Petition;
recommending y

and
WHEREAS, thereafter, the hearing on said Petition was

held in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of
8
Kent at 8:00 O'clock P.M. on the 19th day of June, 1967, and it
further that thegranting of said Petition for the
9
appearing

vacation of said real property will not be a menace or inconvenience
11
to the traveling public or to any other persons using the
12
streets and alleys in the City of Kent, Washington,

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT
14
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. That subject to the reservations set forth

in Section 2 hereof, the following described real property which

Section 2. The City does hereby reserve unto itself,

its successors or assigns the right to. exercise and grant ease -

in respect to the vacated land described in Section 1 hereof

for the construction, repair, and maintenance of public utilities

3. No vested rights shall be affected by the

provisions of this Ordinance.

Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in

force five days from and after its passage, approval and
