2 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, declaring an emergency, making
3 appropriations and providing for the
issuance of a warrant .for the payment of
4 a 1939 65 -foot Aerial Ladder Fire Engine,
American-LaFrance built for the use and
5 benef it of the Kent Fire Department
6 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
7 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
8 Section 1: That in order to pay for a new fire
9 engine for the City of Kent Fire Department it is necessary
10 to appropriate funds therefor at this time, which have not
11 been budgeted for in the Budget of the City of Kent for
12 fiscal year 1967
13 Section 2: That an emergencyexists due to..the
14 situation set .forth in Section 1 of this Ordinance, which
15 could not have reasonably been foreseen at the time of the
16 preparation of the Budget for the year 1967; and, therefore,
17 there is at this time, as necessary to sustain the proper
18 operation, efficiency and protection of the Citizens of the
19 City of Kent by the Fire Department for the balance of fiscal
20 year 1967, emergency appropriations herewith made of
21 Four Thousand Dollars ($4.,.000.00), plus tax in the sum of One
22 Hundred Sixty -Eight Dollars ($.1.68'.00),.for the purchase of
23 a 1939. 65 -foot Aerial Ladder Fire Engine, American-LaFrance

built, such
emergency warrants to
bear
interest .at the rate

of a maximum
of six per cent (60)
per
annum from the date of

issuance
until paid.

Section 3. This Ordinance shall not be
voted on
28
until at
least one (1) week has elapsed after its
introduction,

and for
passage shall require the vote of one more
than the
30
majority
of all members of the Kent City Council
and be
31
approved
by the Mayor.

I Section 4 Any taxpayer may appear at the meeting
2 at which time emergency Ordinance is voted upon and be heard,
3 for or against the adoption thereof.
4 Section 5; This Ordinance shall be voted upon at
5 the regular meeting of the Kent City Council in the Council
6 Chambers of the Kent City Hall at 8:00 P.M. O'Clock, Monday,
7 June 5, 1967, and a copy of this Ordinance shall be published
8 in the official City newspaper once prior to said date as
9 notice of said meeting and proposed action.
10 Section 6• This Ordinance shall be in force after
11 the public hearing thereon, and after the passage and approval
12 thereof as set forth in the preceding sections of this Ordinance,
13 and after its final publication �pproval by law.
