AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,..
Washington, declaring an emergency, making
appropriations and providing for the issuance:
of warrants to meet construction costs of
$47,500.00 for buildings and other .necessary
facilities for financing new city municipal
shops.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That in order to provide shop facilities.
for the various operating departments of the City of Kent, and,
further, to meet construction costs of the building, along with
storage facilities, parking, fencing :and other necessary
facilities: associated therewith.for. the balance of the year 19679
it is necessary to appropriate funds therefor at this time which
have not been budgeted for in the Budget of the City. of Kent for
the fiscal year 1967
Section 2. That an emergency exists due to the
(situation set forth in Section l of this Ordinance which could not
R have reasonably been foreseen at the time of the preparation of the
!budget, for the year 1967 and,therefore, there is at this time

as necessary to maintain the proper operation and effeciency of
the operating departments of the City of Kent for the balance of
I the fiscal year 1967 emergency appropriations herewith made of
1$47,500.00 to finance and meet the construction costs of new

buildings, along with storage facilities, parking, fencing and
other necessary facilities associated with shop facilities for

Ithe. various operating departments of the City of Kent to meet said

emergency and that, if necessary, emergency warrants shall be

is issued for said amount .or for such portion thereof as shall be
29,!need:ed, such emergency warrants to bear interest at the rate of
six percent .(6%) per annum from the date of issuance and until

paid.

Section 3. This Ordinance shall not be voted on until
at least one (1) week has elapsed after its introduction and, for
1 passage, shall require the vote of one more than the majority of
2 all members of the Kent City Council and be approved by the Mayor.
3 Section 4. Any taxpayer may appear at the meeting at
4 which this emergency Ordinance.is voted upon and be heard for or
5 against the adoption thereof.
6 Section 5. This Ordinance shall be voted upon at the
7 regular meeting of the Kent City Council in the Council chambers
8 of the Kent City Hall at 8 o'clock p.m., Monday, April 3, 1967,
9 and a copy of this Ordinance shall be published in the official
10
city newspaper onceprior to said date., as noticeof said meeting
11 and proposed action.

Section 6. This Ordinance shall be in force after. the
13 public hearing thereon and after the passage and approval thereof
14 as set forth in the prece ding sections of. this Ordinance and
15 five days after its final passage, approval and publication as
16 provided by law.
