AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,.
2 Washington declaring an emergency, making
appropriations and providing for the issuance
3 of warrants in the amount of $27,000.00 to.
allow the acquisition of certain municipal
4 garbage containers.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO

ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. That in order to enable the City of Kent to

purchase $27,000.00 worth of garbage containers as hereinafter
9 '
listed, to -wit:

16 3 40 cubic yard compaction -
17 type garbage containers
1,927,50 each 5, 7850

lg It is necessary to appropriate funds therefor at this time which
20 have not been budgeted for in the Budget of the City of Kent for
21 the fiscal year 1967.
22 Section 2. That an emergencyexists due to the situation}
23 set forth. in Section 1 of this Ordinance which could not have
24 reasonably been foreseen at the time of the preparation of the
25 ';'budget for the year 1967 and, therefore, there is at this time as

26 'necessary to sustain the proper operation and efficiency of the '
27 'City's garbage utility department of the City of Kent for the;
23 !balance of the fiscal year 1967, emergency appropriations herewithl
29 made of $27,000.00 to finance .the purchase and acquisition of the f

30 equipment as set forth in Section 1 of this Ordinance to meet said''
31 emergency and that, if necessary, emergency warrants should be

4 Section 3.. This Ordinance.shall not be voted on until

fiat least one (l) weekhas elapsed after its introduction and, for
!passage, shall require :the .vote of one more .than the majority of
!all members of the Kent City Council and be approved by the Mayor.
Section 4. Any taxpayer may appear at the meeting at
which this emergency. Ordinance is voted upon and be heard for or
,against the adoption thereof.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall be voted: upon at the
jregular meeting of the Kent .City.Council in the Council chambers
[of the Kent City.Hall at 8 o'clock p.m., Monday, April 3, 1967,,
and a copy of this Ordinance shall be published in the official
city newspaper once prior to said date,.as notice of said meeting
and proposed action.
Section 6. This Ordinance. shall be in force after. the
Ipublic hearing .thereon and after the passage and approval thereof
as set forth in the prece ding sections of this Ordiiance and
five. days after its. final passage, approva and publication as
