AN. ORDINANCE relating to planning and
rezoning for land use' and development in
the City. of Kent and rezoning a portion of
certain property originally zoned by the.
City of Kent by Ordinance No. 10712 as
amended, as R-.2 (Two -Family Residential
Zoning District): zone to M-1 (Light
Industrial Zoning District) zone and
C-3'•(G.eneral Commercial Zoning District).
zone.
WHEREAS, ,ce.rtain land was originally zoned by the City.
of Kent by. Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, entitled "Zoning
Ordinance for the City of Kent, Washington", passed by the City.
Council on the .15th. day of September, 1960, and
WHEREAS, theeffective date of the zoning of said cer-
tain land by said Ordinance No. 1071 and the effective .date: of
said Ordinance No. 10712 itself, was the 3rd day of October, .
1980, :and
WHEREAS, as required by. Ordinance No. 1071, as
amended, the .City Council, after referral,,study by and a public
hearing before the Planning Commission of the City.of Kent,
wherein it was recommended that said land be .rezoned from R-2
(Two. -Family Residential Zoning District) zone: to.M71 (Light
Industrial ZoningDistrict) zone and C-3 (G.eneralCommercial
Zoning District) zone,.and
WHEREAS, thereafter th.e. City Council of the City of
Kent did, upon the :15th day of August, 1966', hold a public
hearing on said recommendation insofar as it related to said
certain lands,said public hearing being held after proper
notice thereof, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The following described land situated in
the City of Kent, County of King, State of Washington, and
presently zoned as R-.2 (Two -Family Residential Zoning District)

1 zone and more particularly described as follows:
2 That portion of Gov't Lots 2 8 3 in Sec.
181, T2.2N, RSE, W.M. described as follows:
3 Beginning at a point which is 1:027.39
ft. South of the northeast corner of
4 Gov't Lot 2; thence. West 584 ft;. thence
South parallel with the East line of
5 said Gov't Lot 2 to the South line of the
North 375•.29 ft of said Gov't Lot 3;
6 thence East 584 ft to the West line of
said Lot 3; thence North along said Lot line's
7 to the point of beginning; except drainage
ditch.

is hereby rezoned to M-1 (Light Industrial Zoning District) zone;

and the following described land situated in the City of Kent,
10 County of King, State of Washington, .and presently zoned as
11 R-2 (Two -Family Residential Zoning District) zone and more
12 particularly described as follows:
13 That portion of Gov't Lots,2 8 3 in Sec. 18,
T2:2N, RSE, W.M. described as follows:
14 Beginning at a point which is 1027.39 feet
South of the northeast .corner of Gov't Lot
15 2; thence West .584 ft. to the point of begin-
ning. Then continue West 604 ft. to the"
16 West line of said Lot 2; thence South along
West line of said Lot 2 292-.7.ft. to: the North
17 line of said Gov't Lot 3, thence East 20 ft;
thence South parallel with West line of Gov't
18 Lot 3 to the South line of the North 375,.29
ft. of said Gov't :Lot 3; thence East 584 ft.;
19 thence North parallel with the East line of
said Gov't Lots to the point of beginning;
20 except county road.
21 is hereby rezoned to C-3 (General Commercial Zoning District) zone
22 Section 2. The City Engineer of the City of Kent be
23 and he is hereby authorized and directed to indicate upon the
24 Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent or upon an
25 addendum thereto the zoning of said property as provided for in
26 Section 1 of this Ordinance.
27 Section 3. That upon said amendment :being shown upon
28 the Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent or upon an
29 addendum thereto, the copy of said map or addendum shall be filed.
30 with the County Auditor of King County, Washington, and the :City
31 Clerk of the City of Kent be and she is hereby authorized and

directed to record this Ordinance with the County Auditor for
King County and pay the filing fee. therefor.
Section 4.. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage, approval and publication as
provided by law. ,�r—
