2 AN ORDINANCE relating to planning and re
3 zoning for land use and development in the
City of .Kent and rezoning a portion of cer-
tain property originally zoned by the City.
of Kent :by Ordinance. No. 1071, as amended,
5 as M-1 (Light Industrial) zone .to C-3
(General Commercial) zone.
6 WHEREAS, certain land was originally zoned by the City
7 of Kent by Ordinance No. 10712 as amended, entitled "Zoning
8 Ordinance -for the City of Kent,.Washington," passed by the City
9 Council on the 15th day of September, -1960, and
10 WHEREAS, the effective: date. :of the zoning of said cer
11 Iain land by said Ordinance No. 1071 and the :effective :date of
12 said Ordinance No. 1071, itself, was the 3rd day of October, 19605
13 and
14 WHEREAS, as required: by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended,
15 the :City Council, afterreferral, study by and a public hearing
16 before the :Planning Commission of the City of Kent, wherein it
17 was recommended that said land be rezoned from M-1 (Light
18 Industrial) zone to C-3 (General Commercial) zone, and
19 WHEREAS, thereaf ter. the City Council of the .City of
20 Kent :did, upon the 16th.day of May, 1966, hold a public hearing
21 on said recommendation insofar as it relatedto said certain
22 lands, said public hearing being held after proper notice thereof,
23 NOW, THEREFORE, .THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF KENT,.
24 WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
25 Section 1. The :following described land situated in
26 the City :of Kent, County: of. King, State of Washington, .and pre
27 sently zoned as M-1 (Light Industrial) zone and more particularly
28 described as follows:

The north. 5 acres of Trach 6 of Meeker's
Supplemental Plat of the: First -Addition
to. the Town of Kent, as recorded in Volume
5 of Plats, at Page 965 records of said
county; EXCEPT the south 75 feet thereof,
and EXCEPT that portion lying northeasterly
of the southwesterly line of road, Section
24, Township 22 North, Range 5 East of the
Willamette - Meridian in King County, State of
Washington.

Section 2 The :City Engineer.of the City of Kent be
and he is hereby authorized and directed to indicate upon th.e.
Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent or upon an addendum
thereto the zoning of said property as provided -for -in Section 1
lof this Ordinance
Section 3. That upon said amendment being shown upon
the Comprehensive Planning Map of the :City of Kent or upon an
addendum thereto, the copy of said map or addendum shall be filed
with the .County Auditor of King County., Washington, and the City
Clerk of the City of Kent be and she is hereby authorized and
directed to: record this Ordinance with the County Auditor of King
County and pay the filing fee therefor.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take. effect and be .in
force from and after its passage,: .approval and publication, as
providedby law. _
