WHEREAS, certain land was originally zoned by the City of Kent by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, entitled "Zoning Ordinance for. the City of Kent, Washington," passed by the City Council on the 15th day of September, 1960, and WHEREAS,.th.e effective date of the zoning of said cer- tain land by said Ordinance No. 1071 and the effective date: of said Ordinance No. 1071, itself, was the 3rd day of October, 196.0, and WHEREAS, as required by Ordinance No.. 1071, asan.en.ded, the City -Council, after referral, study by and a public hearing before the Planning Commission of the City of Kent,wherein it was recommended that :said land be rezoned from M-1 (Light Industrial) zone to C-3 (General Commercial) zone, and WHEREAS, thereafter the City Council of the City of Kent did, upon the 6th day of June, 1966, hold a public hearing on said recommendation insofar as it related to said certain lands, said public hearing -being held after proper notice thereof, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: :Section 1. The following described land situated in the City. of Kent, County of King, State of Washington, and pre- sently zoned as M-1 (Light Industrial) zone and more particularly described as follows-. Page One 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 v PACE 1 6 That portion of the southwest quarter of the northeast quarter.of the .southeast quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 23, Township 22 North, Range 4 East of the Willamette Meridian in King County, Washington, described -as follows: Beginning at the corner common to Sections 13, 14,:23 and 24, said Township and Range; thence west along the section line between .said Sections 14 and 23 2001.9 feet. to the northeast corner of the .tract of land conveyed to Frances. Stewart by deed bearing Auditor's File #629612; thence south parallel with the west line of the. Thompson Donation Claim, 1359.7 feet to the southeast corner. of said Frances Stewart Tract and the true point of beginning; thence west 1055.2 feet, more or less, to. the .east line of the road, 40 feet in width conveyed. to King County.by deed dated March 7, 1905 and recorded in Volume .310 of Deeds, at Page 514; thence southeasterly along the easterly line of said road 692.3 feet to it8 intersection with the north. line of Meeker Avenue; thence north 88056' east along the north line .of .Meek.er Avenue 805.9 feet., more or less, to.a point 899.9 feet west of the west line of the Thompson Donation Claim and the southwest corner of a tract .of land conveyed to John T. Steuart by deed bearing Auditor's File..#629611;.thence north parallel with the west line of said Donation Claim, 629.9 feet. .to the true point of beginning; EXCEPTING land condemned by King County on the north side of Meeker. Avenue. is hereby rezoned to C-3 (General Commercial) zone. Section 2. The City Engineer of the City of Kent be and he is hereby authorized and directed to indicate upon the Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent or upon an addend thereto the zoning of said property as provided for in Section 1 of this Ordinance. Section 3. That upon said amendment being shown upon .th.e.Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent or upon an addendum thereto, the copy of said map or addendum shall be filed. with.the County Auditor of King County, Washington, and the City Clerk of the City of Kent be and she is hereby authorized and directed to record this Ordinance with the County Auditor of King County and pay the filing fee therefor. Section 4.
