An Ordinance relating to planning and zoning
for land use and -development in.the.City of
Kent, Washington, and rezoning a portion of
certain property originally zoned by the City.
by. Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, as M-1
(l.ight:industrial) zone to. C-3 (general com-
mercial) zone

WHEREAS, certain land was originally zoned by the City
of Kent,: by Ordinance .No. 1071, as amended, and entitled "Zoning
Ordinance for the:City.of Kent, Washington", passed by the City
Council on the :15th day of September, 1960 and
WHEREAS, theeffective date ,of the zoning of said certain
Land by said Ordinance 1071, as amended, and the effective date.
f said Ordinance 1071, itself, was the 3rd day of October, 1960,

WHEREAS, as required by. Ordinance No. 1071, as 'amended,
the City Council, after referral to the Kent Planning Commission
for study and a Public Hearing, whereafter it was recommended that
said land be rezoned. from M-1 (light -industrial) zone to C-3
(general commercial) zone,.and
WHEREAS, thereafter, . the City Council of the .City of .Kent
did upon the 18th day of April, 1966 hold a Public Hearing on
said recommendation insofar as it :related to said certain lands,
aid Public Hearing being held after proper notice thereof,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Kent,..

Washington, do ordain as follows:

Section 1. The, following described land, situated in
26
he City of Kent, County ;of King, -State of Washington, and
27
presently zoned as M-1 (light industrial) zone, and more particu-
28
arly described as follows

Beginning at the intersection of the cente:r-
30 line*of Harrison Street :and Thompson Avenue;
thence south along the. -centerline of Thompson
31 Ave. to the .centerline of Meeker Street; thence

west along the :center -Eine of .Meeker Street :60
feet;: thence south. parallel tothe ceriterline

of Thompson Avenue to -the south line of Lot
42 of Meeker's_First Addition to Kent; thence

east along said south line to the :southeast
corner of said lot;: thence north.along :the

east line of Lot 42., 58 feet; thence east along
a line 228_ feet south and parallel tothe center -

line of Meeker .Street to the west margin of
the Puget .Power Company right-of-way; thence

north along said margin to.th.e centerline of
Harrison Street; thence :west along the center -

line of Harrison Street to beginning.

is :hereby rezoned to C-3'.(g:eneral commercial) zone.

Section'2. The City Engineer of the City of Kent be

and he is hereby authorized and directed.to indicate.:upon the
11
Comprehensive Planning map of the City of Kent, or upon an
12
addendum thereto, the rezoning of said property., as provided.

for in Section 1 of this Ordinance..

I Section 3. That upon said amendment being shown upon
15 the :Comprehensive.:planning map of the City.of Kent,. or upon an
16 addendum thereto, the copy of said map, or addendum, shall be
17 filed with the County -Auditor of King County, Washington and
18 the City Clerk of the City of Kent be :and she is .her.eby. authorized
19 and directed to record this Ordinance with the County Auditor
20 f King County and pay the filing fee therefor.
21 Section 4. This Ordinance -shall take .effect -and be in.
22orce:from and after its passage, approval and publication as
23 rovided by law.
