ORDINANCE NO. 1 3 ! ?
AN ORDINANCE for the City of Kent, annexing
to the City certain lands contiguous thereto
(to be known as the Richards-Hyline Acres
Annexation - 65)
WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35.13 of the laws of
the State of Washington, the owners of not less than 75 per cent
in value according to the assessed\aluation for general taxation
of certain lands situated in King County, Washington, and more
particularly in this Ordinancehereinafter described, filed with
the City Council of. the City of Kent their petition, in writing,
to have annexed to said Citythe said described land; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35.13 of the laws of
the State of Washington, various proceedings were had, including
public hearings and including the waiver of the necessity of a
Board of Review by the proper authorities, asrequired. by
RCW 35-.13 of the laws of the State of Washington; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Kent :that said petition meets the requirements specified by law,
that procedures from the filing with the City of Kent by the
requisite number of property owners of their notice of intention
to commence annexation proceedings, to and including the consid-
eration of the passage of this Ordinance, meet with the require-
ments specified by law,and the lands sought tobe annexed are
contiguous to the City of Kent and have not heretofore been
incorporated in or as a city or town,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Se(-'tic)n 1. That there shall be 'annexed to the City of
Kent the following described lands situated in the County of
King, State of Washington, to wit:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Northwest
quarter of. the Southwest -quarter of Section 15, Township 22
North, Range 4 East, W.M. and running thence South 0638116"
East along the West line of said subdivision 838.96 feet .to.
the Northeasterly line of the Kent .Des Moines Road (State

Secondary Highway 5-A); thence South: 40°28'16" East along said
Northeasterly line of State Secondary Highway 5-A, 162.97 feet;
thence North 7411511 East to.the Easterly line of Primary State
Highway 1 (S.eattle Tacoma Freeway) and the true point of begin-
ning for this description; thence continuing North 74'15"East
to. the .Westerly line of Old Military Road as now revised; thence
North 26044.1.20" Westalong the Westerly line of Old Military
Road 163.42: feet;_ thence South 74.115"West to the Easterly line
of Primary State Highway 1 (Seattle Tacoma Freeway); thence
Southerly along the Easterly line of said Primary State Highway
1 to the .true point of beginning.
Section 2. That the property: hereby annexed. shall be
assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as
other property within the City of Kent is assessed and taxed to
pay for any outstanding general indebtedness of the City to
which the area was annexed and which was contracted prior to or
in existence at the effective date of this annexation.
Section 3 That upon the day of Qr, /* 44-A 1965
the annexation of said property shall become effective and said
property shall become a part of the City of Kent subject to all
of the City laws and Ordinances then and thereafter in effect
except as otherwise provided by law.
Section 4., This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage, approval and publication as
providedby law, subject to the provisions of Section 3 of this
Ordinance above.
