AN ORDINANCE relating to planning and rezoning
for land use and development in the City of
Kent and rezoning a portion of certain pro-
perty originally zoned by the City of Kent by
Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, as R-1 (Single
Family Residence) zone to M-1 (Light Industrial)
zone, with a buffer zone rezoned as R-3 (Multiple
Dwelling) zone.
WHEREAS, certain land was originally zoned by the City
of Kent by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, entitled "Zoning
Ordinance for the City of Kent, Washington," passed by the City
Council on the 15th day of September, 1960, and
WHEREAS, the effective date of the zoning of said cer-
tain land by said Ordinance No. 1071 and the effective date of
said Ordinance No. 1071 itself was the 3rd day of October, 1960,
and
WHEREAS, as required by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended,
the City Council, after referral to and study by the Planning
Commission of the City of Kent, recommended that said land be
rezoned from R-1 (Single Family Residential) zone to M-1 (Light
Industrial) zone, with a buffer zone retained as R-3 (Multiple
Dwelling) zone, and
WHEREAS, thereafter- the City Council of the City of Kent
did, upon the 2nd day of August, 1965, hold a public hearing on
aid recommendations insofar as they related to said certain lands,
said public hearing being held after proper notice thereof, NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The following described land situated in
the City of Kent, County of King, State.of Washington, and pres-
ently zoned as hereinafter indicated is hereby rezoned as herein-
after indicated:
Parcel A: Rezoned from R-1 (Single Family
Res d ntial) zone to M-1 (Light Industrial)

Parcel B: Rezoned from R-1 (Single Family
Residential) zone to M-1 (Light'Industrial)
zone: That portion of Block 3 of Supple-
mental Plat of Meeker's First lAddition doithe
Town of Kent, according to pa
Volume 5 of Plats,page 96, in King County,
Washington, lying easterly of a strip of land
deeded to King County for Orrillia-Kent Road
by deeds recorded June 52 1922 and July 12,
1922 under Auditor's File Nos. 1622288 and
1633835, respectively; EXCEPT that portion
thereof described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the center
lines of Washington Street and Shinn Avenue,
as shown an said plat; thence North 0°10,00"
West along the center line of Washington Street,
2040.10 feet; thence North 89130'00" West 123.68
feet to the true point of beginning; thence
North 89030'00" West 59.82 feet; thence North
31058'00" West 100.00 feet; thence North 81°
15100" East 106.23 feet; thence South 4°22'30"
East 101..82 feet to the true point of beginning;
and EXCEPT any portion thereof lying within the
East 30.00 feet of the West 99.20 feet of said
Block 3, deeded to King County for Michael 1908
Wilson Road No. 332 by deed recorded July 7, ,
under Auditor's File No. 557751.
Section 2. The City Engineer of the City of Kent be
and he is hereby authorized and directed to indicate upon the
Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent or upon an addendum
thereto the zoning of said property as provided for in Section 1
of this Ordinance.
Section 3. That upon said amendment being shown upon
the Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent or upon an
addendum thereto, the copy of said map or addendum shall be filed
with the County Auditor of King County, Washington, and the City
Clerk of the City of Kent be and she is hereby authorized and
directed to record this Ordinance with the County Auditor of King
County and pay the filing fee therefor.

Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage, approval and publication as
provided by law.
