HomeMy WebLinkAbout1303vai 68 {{ PACC0 4 591.' 51,35 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 ORDINANCE NO. %;;L j AN ORDINANCE relating to planning and re- zoning for land use and development in the City of Kent and rezoning a portion of cer- tain property originally zoned by the City by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, as R-2 (Two Family Residential) zone to C-3 (Gen- eral Commercial) zone and M-1 (Light In- dustrial) zone. 3 WHEREAS, certain land was originally zoned by the City of Kent by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, entitled "Zoning Ordinance for the City of Kent, Washington," passed by the City Council on the 15th day of September, 1960, and WHEREAS, the effective date of the zoning of said certain land by said Ordinance No. 1071 and the effective date lof said Ordinance No. 1071, itself, was the third day of October, 11960, and WHEREAS, as required by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, the City Council, after referral to and study by the Planning (Commission of the City of Kent, recommended that said land be rezoned from R-2 (Two Family Residential) zone to C-3 (General Commercial) zone and M-1 (Light Industrial) zone, and WHEREAS, thereafter the City Council of the City of Kent did, upon the 7th day of June, 1965, hold a public hearing on said recommendations insofar as they related to said certain lands, said public hearing being held after proper notice thereof, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The following described land situated in the City of Kent, County of King, State of Washington, and pre- sently zoned as R-2 (Two Family Residential) zone and more par- ticularly described as follows is hereby rezoned as hereinafter indicated: Parcel 1. R-2 (Two Family Residential) zone to -1- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 VOL 4686 PACE45•1 C-3 (General Commercial) zone: The West 380 feet of the following described property: Portion of Government Lot 29 Section 18, Town- ship 22 North, Range 4 E.W.M., beginning on the East line of said Government Lot 22 Section 18, 583.29 feet South of the Northeast corner of said Government Lot 2; thence West along the South line of land conveyed to P. H. Harn by deed dated October 205 1903, filed April 18, 1904, and recorded in Volume 373 of Deeds, page 332, as File No. 294521, 1188 feet, M/L to the West line of said Section 18; thence South along the West line of said Section 18, 424' -feet; thence Easterly 1188 feet M/L to East line of said Government Lot 2; thence Northerly along said East line to beginning. Parcel 2. R-2 (Two Family Residential) zone to M-1 (Light Industrial) zone: The East 808 feet of the following described property: Portion of Government Lot 2, Section 18, Town- ship 22 North, Range 4 E.W.M., beginning on the East line of said Government Lot 29 Section 18, 583.29 feet South of the Northeast corner of said Government Lot 2; thence West along the South line of land conveyed to P. H. Harn by deed dated October 20, 1903, filed April 189 1904, and recorded in Volume 373 of Deeds, page 332, as File No. 294521, 1188 feet, M/L to the west line of said Section 18; thence South along the West line of said Section 18, 424 feet; thence Easterly 1188 feet M/L to East line of said Government Lot 2; thence Northerly along said East line to beginning. Section 2., The City Engineer of the City of Kent be and he is hereby authorized and directed to indicate upon the Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent or upon an addendum thereto the zoning of said property as provided for in Section 1 of this Ordinance. Section 3. That upon said amendment being shown upon the Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent or upon an addendum thereto, the copy of said map or addendum shall be filed with the County Auditor of King County, Washington, and the City Clerk of the City of Kent be and he is hereby authorized and directed to record this Ordinance with the County Auditor of King -2- VOL 4.886 IkACE45? 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 County and pay the filing fee therefor. Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, approval and pub3.icatapn as provided by law.
