AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent annexing

to the City certain lands contiguous thereto.

WHEREAS, in accordance with R.C.W. 35.13 of the laws
4
of the State of Washington, the owners of not less than seventy-
5
five per cent (75%) in value according to the assessed valuation
t
6
for general taxation of certain lands situated in King County,
7
Washington, and more particularly in this Ordinance hereinafter

described, filed with the City Council of the City of. Kent their
9
petition in writing to have annexed to said City the said de -
10
scribed lands, and

WHEREAS, in accordance with R.C.V1. 35.13 of the laws
12
of the State of Washington, various proceedings were had, in -
13
cluding public hearings and including= the convening and approval
14
of a Board of Review as required by R.C.W. 35.13 of the laws
15
of the State of Washington, and
16
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
17
Kent that said petition meets the requirements specified by law,
18
that procedures from the filing with the City of Kent by the
19
requisite number of property owners of their notice of intention
20
to commence annexation proceedings to and including the considera-
21
tion of the passage of this Ordinance meet with the requirements
22
specified by law, and lands sought to be annexed are contiguous
23
to the City of Kent and have not heretofore been incorporated in
24
or as a city or town, now, therefore,

TITLE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KE14T DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS

Section 1. That there shall be annexed to the City of
27
Kent the following described land situated in the County of King,
28
State of Washington, to -wit:

Beginning at the Southwest corner of the Southeast 1/4 o�
30
one-quarter of Section 17, Township 22 North, Range
5 E.W.Nl.; thence Northerly along the West line of
31
said Southeast one-quarter of the Southwest one-
quarter to the Northwest corner thereof; thence

Easterly along the North line of said Southeast

one-quarter of the Southwest one-quarter to the
Northeast corner thereof; thence Southerly along
the East line of said Southeast one-quarter of the
Southwest one-quarter to the Southeast corner
thereof; thence Westerly along the South line of
said Southeast one-quarter of the Southwest one- J
quarter to the point of b/eginning!
Section 2. That the property hereby annexed shall be/
assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as
other property within the City of Kent is assessed and taxed,
to pay for any outstanding general indebtedness of the City to
which the area was annexed and which it was contracted prior to
or in existence at the effective date of this annexation.
Section 3. That upon the i.)_11 day of
1965, the annexation of said property shall become effective,
and said property shall become a part of the City of Kent sub-
ject to all of the City's laws and ordinances then and there-
after in effect except as otherwise provided by law.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its
passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
