HomeMy WebLinkAbout12881� 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 ORDINANCE 140.-2 ,,, AN ORDINANCE relating to planning and re- zoning for land use and development in the City of Kent and rezoning a portion of cer- tain land originally zoned by the City by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, as M -A (In- dustrial - Agricultural) zone to M-1 (Light Industrial) zone. WHEREAS, certain land was originally zoned by the City of Kent by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, entitled "Zoning Ordinance for the City of Kent, Washington," passed by the City Council on the 15th day of September, 1960, and WHEREAS, the effective date of the zoning of said certain land by said Ordinance 1o. 1071 and the effective date .of said Ordinance into. 1071, itself, was the third day of October, 11960, and WHEREAS, as required by Section 10.16.020 of Ordinance No. 1071, as amended, the City Council, after referral to and study by the Planning Commission of the City of Kent, recommended that said land be rezoned from M -A (Industrial - Agricultural) (zone to M-1 (Light Industrial) zone, and WHEREAS, thereafter the City Council of the City of Kent did, upon the 15th day of February, 1965, hold a public hear- ing on said recommendation insofar as it related to said certain land, said public hearing being held after proper notice thereof, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT do ordain as follows: Section 1: The following described land situated in the City of hent, County of King, State of Nashington, and pre- sently zoned as M -A (Industrial -Agricultural) zone and more particularly described as follows: Parcel A That portion of John M. Thomas Donation Claim No. 4-2 in ownship 22 North, Range 4 East of the Willamette Meridian described as follows: Beginning at the southeast corner of Government Lot 15, Section 25, Township 22 North, Range 4 East of the Willamette Meridian, which point is on the west line of said Donation Claim; thence east along the produced south line of said Section 259 a distance of 21.21 chains; thence south 704.5 feet; more or less, to a point -1- 1( G 2 i� 4 Ar 5 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 j 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 which is 891 feet north of the south line of said Donation Claim; thence east parallel to said claim line 900 feet, more or less, to westerly line of Puget Sound Electric Rail- way right-of-way; thence northerly along said right-of-way line 2450 feet, more or less, to the north line of said Donation Claim; thence westerly along said claim line 825 feet, more or less, to the most northwest corner of said claim; thence south 676.5 feet, more or less, to the angle corner of said claim; thence westerly along said claim line 21.21 chains to the northeast corner of said Government Lot 15; thence south to beginning; EXCEPT any portion thereof lying within South 272nd Street. Parcel B That portion of the following described tract of Mosesrkland Donation Claim No. 40 in Sections 25 and 26, Township 22 North, Range 4 East of the Willamette Meridian of King County, Washington, lying west of the Puget Sound Electric Railway right-of-way and east of Secondary State Highway No. 5-M: Beginning on the south line of said Donation Claim, at its intersection with the west line of the county road, which runs along the west bank of the White River; thence west along the south line and the said south line produced 2791.5 feet to a point on the north projection of the west line of the Thomas Donation Claim in said Township; thence southerly along the said projection of the west line of said Thomas Donation Claim 620.2 feet, more or less, to the south line of said Kirkland Claim and the northwest corner of the said Thomas Claim; thence westerly along the said south line of the said Kirkland Claim 2291.5 feet to the southwest corner of the same; thence northerly along the west line of the said Kirkland Claim 1141.6 feet; thence easterly 5040 feet along a line parallel to the first course described, to the west line of said County Road. at a point 608 feet, more or less, north of beginning; thence southerly along the west line of said county road 608 feet, more or less, to beginning. Parcel C That portion of the Moses Kirkland Donation Claim No in Township 22 North, Range 4 East of the Willamette Meridian in King County, Washington, described as follows: Beginning on the south line of said Donation Claim at a point which is 1405 feet, more or less, west of the westerly line of County Road No. 76 which point is the northerly angle corner of said Moses Kirkland Donation Claim No. 40, and the John M. Thomas Donation No. 42; thence south along the line between said Donation Claim 676.5 feet to the southerly angle corner to said Donation Claim; thence west- erly along the line between said claim 1399.86 feet, more or less, to the northwest corner of said John M. Thomas Donation Claim No. 42; thence north 620.2 feet on a pro- jection of the west line of said Thomas Donation Claim to intersect a street on the westerly production of the south line of said Moses Kirkland Donation Claim projected from the point of beginning of this Parcel C; thence east along said produced line 1390.50 feet to the point of beginning. LESS any portions of the aforedescribed 3 parcels lying east of the west line of the Puget Sound Electric Railway right- of-way, or west of the east line of the right-of-way, as the same shall be established by the State of Washington Highway Department for the establishment of Washington State Highway No. 5, Renton to Auburn Freeway -2- 1 2 3 4 ms.µ 5 7 i 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21- 22 23 be and it is hereby rezoned to M-1 (Light Industrial) zone. Section 2. The City Engineer of the City of Kent be and he is hereby authorized and directed to indicate upon the Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent or upon an addendum thereto the zoning of said property as provided for in Section 1 of this Ordinance. Section 3. That upon said amendment berg shown upon the Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent or upon an addendum thereto, the copy of said map or addendum shall be filed with the County Auditor of King County, Washington, and the City Clerk of the City of Kent be and he is hereby authorized and Idirected to record this Ordinance with the County Auditor of King 241 25 j 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 County.
