ORDINANCE NO. _
AN ORDINANCE relating to planning and rezoning
for land, use and development in the City
of Kent and rezoning a portion of certain
land originally zoned by the City by Ordi-
nance No. 1071 as amended as R-4 (Multiple
Family Residential District) zone to C-3
(General Commercial District) zone.
WHEREAS, certain land was originally zoned by the
City of Kent by Ordinance No. 1071 as amended entitled "Zoning
Ordinance for the City of Kent, Washington" passed by the City
Council on the 15th day of September, 1960, and
WHEREAS, the effective date of the zoning of said
certain land by said Ordinance into. 1071 and the effective
(date of said Ordinance No. 1071 itself was the 3rd day of
October, 1960, and
WHEREAS, as required by Section 10.16.02 of Ordinance
No. 1071 as amended, the Citv Council, after referral to and
study by the Planning Commission of the City of Kent, recom-
mended that said land be rezoned from R-4 (Multiple Family
Residential District) zone to C-3 (General Commercial District)
zone for the reason that the rezone would be compatible with the
principles and techniques of comprehensive planning, and would
i be in the best interests of the health and welfare of the citizens
of the City of Kent, and
WHEREAS, thereafter, the City Council of the City of
Kent, did upon the 18th day of January, 1965, hold a public
hearing on said recommendation insofar as it related to said
certain lands, said public hearing being held after proper
notice thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT
DO ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1: The following described lands situated
in the City of Kent, County of King, State of Washington and
presently zoned as R-4 (Multiple Family Residential District)
zone and more particularly described as follows:

1 i' (A) Lot 3, Block 1, Feroe's lst Addition to

the City of Kent, according to the plat thereof
2 recorded in Volume 40 of Plats, page 14, records
of King County Auditor.

(B) That portion of the southwest quarter
4 of the northwest quarter of Section 19,
Township 22 North, Range 5 EtidM, described
5 as follows: Beginning on the West line of said
subdivision at a point 90.00' northerly of
8 intersection of said west line with the north
line of Meeker Street produced easterly, said
7 point being marked by a concrete monument set
for southwest corner of a tract of land con -
8 veyed to L. A. Clark and others by deed recorded
under Auditor's File No. 366431; thence along
9 the southerly line of said tract and said south-
erly line extended south 89030100' east 340.08'
10 m/1 to the northwesterly corner of lot 8, Feroe's
lst Addition to Kent, according to the plat re -
11 corded in Volume 40 of Plats, Pg 145 King County,
said corner being the true point of beginning of
12 this description; thence south 89030100" east
101.07' m/1 to a concrete monument marking the
13 northeast corner of Feroe's lst Addition; thence
along the west line of Titus Street, northerly
14 54.001; thence north 61130'00" west 90.00';
thence southwesterly to the true point of be -
15 ginning.
16 (C) That portion of the southwest quarter of
the northwest quarter of Section 19, Township
17 22 North, Range 5 EWM described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the westerly line of
18 East Titus Street 54' northeast of the most
easterly point of Lot 8, Block 1 of Feroe's
19 lst Addition to the City of Kent, as per plat
recorded in Volume 40 of Plats, Pg 14, records
20 of King County; thence northeasterly along said
westerly line 801; thence north 61030100" west
21 901, m/1, to a point from which the most west -
22 erly point of said Lot 8 bears south 28°30'00"
west; thence south 280 30100" west 801; thence
23 northeasterly 901, m/19 to the point of beginning.
24 are and they are hereby rezoned to C-3 (General Commercial
25 District) zone.
26 Section 2: The City Engineer of the City of Kent be
27 and he is hereby authorized and directed to indicate upon the
28 Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent, or upon an
29 addendum thereto, the zoning of said property as provided for
30 in Section 1 of this Ordinance.
31 Section 3: That upon said amendment being shown upon
32 the Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of. Kent, or upon

an addendum thereto, the copy of said map or addendum shall
be filed with the County Auditor of King County, Washington,
and the City Clerk of the City of Kent be, and he is hereby
authorized and directed to record this Ordinance with the
County Auditor of King County.
Section 4: This Ordinance shall take effect and be
in force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval
and publication as provided by law.
