AN ORDINANCE repealing Kent City Ordinance 0.1117
s. 1--1962 and 0.1117 s. 4--1962 and adopting by
reference the "Uniform Building Code,. 1964 Edition,
Volume 111, establishing rules and regulations for
the construction, alteration, equipment or removal
of building or structures within the City of Kent.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT DO ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. Kent City Ordinance No. 0.1117 s. 1--1962
which reads as follows:
"3.2.04 ADOPTION OF BUILDING CODE. There is adopted
by the City of Kent, for the purpose of establishing
rules and regulations for the construction, alteration,
equipment or removal of buildings or structures, that
certain code known as "National Building Code, 1955
Edition", together with the 1957 amendments thereto,
including appendices thereto and the 1959 Revised
Edition of Fire Resistance Ratings, save and except
such portions of said code as are hereinafter in this
Ordinance deleted, modified or amended. Not less than
three copies have been and now are filed in the office
of the City Clerk of Kent. The said code is hereby
adopted and incorporated.as fully as if set out at
length herein. From the date on which this Ordinance
shall take effect the provisions thereof shall be
controlling in the construction, alteration, equipment
or removal of buildings and structures, within the
corporate limits of Kent."

Section 2. Kent City Ordinance 0.1117 s. 4-.-1962 which
reads as follows:
113.2.08 AMENDMENTS. The said National Building Code,
1955 Edition, together with 1957 amendments thereto
is amended and changed by deletions in the following
respects:
(a) Appendices K, 0, and P, of said National
Building Code are hereby deleted.
(b) Sub -paragraph (d) of Section 919.7 of Appendix
N of said Code is hereby deleted.

Section 3. There is adopted by the City of Kent, together
with all amendments and additions thereto when printed, and
three copies thereof filed with the City Clerk of the City of
Kent, for the Ipurpose of establishing rules and regulations
for the construction, alteration, equipment or removal of
buildings or structures, that certain code known as "Uniform
Building Code, 1964 Edition, Volume 1". Not less than three
(3) copies have been and now are filed with the office of the
City Clerk of Kent. Said code is hereby adopted and incor-
porated as fully as if set out at length herein. This code
shall be controlling in the construction, alteration, equip-
ment or removal of buildings or structures within the corpor-
ate
orporate limits of the City of Kent.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as by law provided.
