ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE relating to planning and rezoning
for land use and development in the City of
Kent and rezoning a portion of certain land
originally zoned by the City by Ordinance No.
1071, as amended, as M -A (Industrial -Agri-
cultural) zone to C-3 (General Commercial)
zone.
WHEREAS, certain land was originally zoned by the
City of Kent by Ordinance No. 1071., as amended, entitled
"Zonins Ordinance for the Citv of Kent, [Vashington", passed
by the City Council on the 15th day of September, 1960; and
WHEREAS, the effective date of the zoning of certain
land by said Ordinance No. 1071, and the effective date of
said Ordinance No. 1071 itself, was the 3rd day of October,
1960; and
WHEREAS, as required by Section 10.16.020 of Ordinance
No. 1071, as amended, the City Council, after referral to and
study by the Planning Commission of the City of Kent, recom-
mending that said lands be rezoned from M -A (Industrial -
Agricultural) zone to C-3 (General -Commercial) zone; and
WHEREAS, thereafter the City CouAcil of the City
of Kent did, upon the 18th day of May, 1964, hold a public
hearing on said recommendation insofar as they related to
said certain land, said public hearing being held after Droper
notice thereof; now, therefore,
follows:
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT DO ORDAIN as
Section 1. The following described land, situated
in the Cite of Kent, County of King, State of Washington,
and presently zoned as M -A (Industrial -Agricultural) zone and
more particularly described as follows:

A portion of the East three-quarters of Tract
3, Meeker's Supplemental Plat First Addition
to Kent, lying ��Iesterly of Orillia-Kent Road.
Portion of Tract 2 and 3 daf beginning at
the Southeast corner of said Tract 2; thence
Easterly along: the Northerly margin of Morton
Street 66.75 feet to Westerly margin of County
Road thence North 10 .,jest along, said Westerly
margin 131 feet; thence South 890 56' West
141.04 feet; thence South 10 East 127.50 feet
to the South line of Tract 2; thence Easterly
along said line to the point of beginning.
Portion of Tract 2 beginning on the North
line of Morton Street 386 feet East of the West
line; thence North paralle-1 to the lest line
128 feet; thence Easterly to a point 141.04
feet Nest or the [Fest line of County Road and
127.50 feet North of the Northerly margin;
thence South 1000' East 127.50 feet; thence
lest to the point of beginning,
be and it is hereby rezoned to`C-3 (General -Commercial) zone.
Section 2. That the City Engineer of the City of
Kent be and he is hereby authorized and directed to indicate
upon the Comprehensive Planning Map of the Citv of Kent, or
upon an addendum thereto, the zoning of said property as
provided for in Section 1 of this Ordinance.
Section 3. That upon said amendment being shown upon
the Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent or upon an
addendum thereto, the copy of said Man or addendum shall be
filed with the County Auditor of King County, Washington and
the City Clerk of the City of Kent be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to record this Ordinance with the
County Auditor of King County.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be
in force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval
and publication as provided by law.
