HomeMy WebLinkAbout1231co V4 Q R rl - ORDINANCE NO. 9> An Ordinance of the City of Kent, annexing to the City certain lands contiguous thereto. WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35.13 of the laws of -the State of Washington, the owners of not less that 75 per cent in value, according to the assessed valuation for general taxation of certain lands situated in King County, Washington, and more particularly in this Ordinance hereinafter described, filed with the City Council of the City of Kent their petition, in writing, to have annexed to said City the said described land, and WIEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35.13 of the laws of the State of Washington, various proceedings were had, includ- ing public hearings, and including the convening and approval of a Board of Review as required by RCW 35.13 of the laws of the State of Washington, and WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Kent that said petition meets the requirements specified by law, that procedures from the filing with the City of Kent by the requisite number of property owners of their notice of intention to commence annexation proceedings to and includ- ing the consideration of the passage of this Ordinance, meet with the requirements specified by law and the lands sought to be annexed are contiguous to the City of Kent and have not heretofore been incorporated in or as City or Town, NoV, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Kent do ordain as follows: Section 1. That there shall be annexed to the City of Kent the following described land, situated in the County of King, State of Washington, to -wit: Section 2. That the property hereby annexed shall be assessed and taxed at the sane rate and on the same basis as other property within the City of Kent is assessed and taxed, to pay for any outstanding cTeneral indebtedness of the City to which the area was annexed and which was contracted prior to or in existence at the effective date of this annexation. Section 3. That upon the 9th day of ?larch, 1964, the annexation of said property shall become affective and said property shall become a part of the City of hent subject to all of the City laws and Ordinances then and thereafter in effect, except as otherwise provided by law. -2- Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Cherry St., and the West line projected South of Lot 21, Block 35. WCI Co's Knob Hill Addn., as recorded in Vol. 5 of Plats, Page 97 Records of King County, Washington; thence South along 00 0, the West line, projected South, of said Lot 21, O and the West line of Block 42 of said _HCI Co's �D Knob Hill Addn., and said West line of Block 42 projected South, to the centerline of the Green O River; thence vlesterly, Southerly, and 'Nesterly 1!"f r' alone the centerline of -the Green _:fiver to the line common to Sec. 30, T22N, RSE, id.i�., and Sec. 25, T22;J, R4E , il. i I. ; thence continuing Westerly along; the centerline of the Green River to the Last r/ww line of the d.P.R.r;. Co.; thence North along; the said Last r/w line to its inter- section with the Borth line of 5.258th St.; thence East along; the North line of S.258th St. to the West line of Sec. 30, T22w31 RSE, thence North a.lon ; said tilest line to the NW corner of said Sec. 30; thence East alons the North line of said Section 30 to the center- line of ['�lexander Ave.; thence South along -the centerline of Z�lexander Ave. to the South line pro j ected ,lest, of Lot 20, 3lock 35 of aforesaid WCI Co's knob Bill Addn.; thence East along said projected South line and the South line of Lots 20, 195 18, 17, 16, 15, 145 13, 12, 11, 10, all in said Block 35, and said South line, projected East, to an intersection c.7ith the gest line, projected North, of Lot 21, said Block 35; thence South along; said projected West line and the vilest line of said Lot 21, projected South, to the point of beginning. Section 2. That the property hereby annexed shall be assessed and taxed at the sane rate and on the same basis as other property within the City of Kent is assessed and taxed, to pay for any outstanding cTeneral indebtedness of the City to which the area was annexed and which was contracted prior to or in existence at the effective date of this annexation. Section 3.
