The City Council of the City of Kent do ordain as follows:

Section 1. 'Lent City Ordinance 0.848 s15--19521 which

The Chief of Police shall place and maintain
9 traffic control signs, signals and devices when
as required under the traffic Ordinances of this
10 City to make effective the provisions of said Or-
dinances, and may place and maintain such addition -
11 al traffic control devices as he may deem necessary
to regulate traffic under the traffic Ordinances of
12 this City or Under State law, or to guide and :Tarn

8.6.04 CITY TRAFFIC ENGI14EER

The Office of City Traffic "Engineer is hereby es -
16 tablished. The City Engineer shall serve as City
Traffic Engineer in addition to his other functions,
17 and shall exercise the powers and duties with respect
to traffic as provided in this Ordinance. It shall be
18 the general duty of the City Traffic Engineer to det-
ermine the installation and proper timing and mainten-
19 ance of traffic control devices, to conduct en gineer-
ing analysis of traffic accidents and to devise re -
20 medial measures, to conduct engineering investigation
of traffic conditions, to plan the operation of traffic
21 on the street and highways of this City, and to co-
operate with other City officials in the development
22 of ways and means to improve traffic conditions, and
to carry -out the additional powers and duties imposed
23 by Ordinances of the City. The City Traffic nineer
may :test traffic control devices under actual con -
24 di tions of traffic.
25 Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full
26 force five (5) days after i assae, approval and publication as
