An Ordinance of the City of Kent changing the
Office of City Clerk from an elective to an
appointive position.
The City Council of the City of Kent do ordain as follows:
Section 1. Commencing with the expiration of the present
term of the City Clerk of the City of Kent, as provided for in the
Laws of the State of Washington, the City Clerk of the City of
Kent shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by
a maJority of the Council of the City of Kent; the Mayor may
remove at his pleasure the City Clerk. Such appointment or
removal must be in writing, signed by the Mayor and filed with
r
the City Clerk.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect, and be in
force five (5) days after its passage, approval and publication as
by law provided.
