AN ORDINANCE relating to planning and
zoning for land use and development in
the City of Kent, and rezoning a portion
of certain land originally zoned by the
City by Ordinance No. 1071, as R-3
(Multiple Dwelling District) zone, to
C-3 (General Commercial) zone.
WHEREAS, certain land was originally zoned by
the City of Kent by Ordinance No. 1071 of the City, en-
titled "Zoning Ordinance for the City of Kent, Washington",
passed by the City Council on the 19th day of September, 1960
and
WHEREAS, the effective date of the zoning of
said certain land by said Ordinance No. 1071, and the
effective date of said Ordinance No. 1071 itself, was
the 3rd day of October, 1960; and
WHEREAS, as required by Section 10.16.04 of
Ordinance No. 1071, the Planning Commission of the City
of Kent, conducted a study and made report to the City
Council of the City of Kent recommending that certain of
the lands zoned by said Ordinance No. 1071 be re -zoned
from a R-3 (Multiple Dwelling District) zone, to a C-3
(General Commercial) zone, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kent
did upon the 15th day of July, 1963, hold a public hear-
ing<upon said recommendations insofar as they related to
said certain lands, said public hearing being held after
prosper ndt'ae thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City
of Kent do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That the following described land

situated in the City of Kent, in the County of King,
State of Washington, and presently zoned as R-3 (Multiple
Dwelling District) more particularly described as follows:
Lots 11 2, 39 41 59 62 7, 8, 91 10, 11,
Block 19 of Washington Central Improvement
Company's First Addition to Kent, as per
Plat recorded in Volume 3 of Plats, Page
97, Records of King County, State of
Washington
be and it is hereby re -zoned to C-3 (General Commercial).
Section 2. That the City Engineer of the City of
Kent be and he is hereby authorized and directed to indi-
cate upon the comprehensive planning map of the City of
Kent, or an addendum thereto, the zoning of said property,
as provided for in Section 1 of.this Ordinance.
Section 3. That upon said amendment being shown
on the comprehensive planning map of the City of Kent, or
an addendum thereto, a copy of said map, or addendum, be
filed with the County Auditor of King County, Washington,
and the City Clerk of the City of Kent be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to record this Ordinance with the
County Auditor of King County, Washington.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect
and be in force five (5) days from and after its passage,
approval and publicationprovided by law._
