ORDINANCE NO.
"J 1 AN ORDINANCE setting forth requirements
for a current and accurate guest roster
2 to be maintained at every mobile home
park, travel trailer park, boarding house,
3 hotel, motel or apartment house within the
City of Kent for inspection by Kent City
4 Officials.
5 WHEREAS, the police and fire department officials
8 of the City of Kent have advised the Kent City Council that
7 during several recent emergency situations, their officers
8 and firemen have been unable to locate individuals residing
9 within mobile home parks, travel trailer parks, boarding
10 houses, hotels, motels ar apartment houses, located within
11 the City of Kent due to the fact that inadequate or no
12 records of such occupants are presently required by the
13 ordinances of the City of Kent, and
14 WHEREAS, it is deemed by the City Council to be
15 a reasonable exercise of the police power of the City of Kent,
16 and in the best interests of the health, welfare and morals
17 of the citizens of the City of Kent to require all persons
18 in control of mobile home parks, travel trailer parks, board-
19 ing houses, hotels, motels or apartment houses located within
20 the City of Kent, to maintain current and accurate records of
21 their guests and inhabitants and their location within said
22 establishments.
23 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
24 Kent do ordain as follows:
25 Section 1. Five (5) days after passage, approval
26 and publication of this ordinance, as provided by law, there
27 shall be added to Chapter 5.18 of Title V. (sanitation,
28 health and animals) of the Kent City Code, the ordinance set
29 forth in Section 2 of this Ordinance and codified as Kent
30 City Ordinance 5.18.187.
31 Section 2. 5.18.187 REGISTER. Each person
32 charged with the control of, or maintenance of any mobile

home park, travel trailer park, boarding house, hotel,
motel or apartment house located within the City Limits of
the City of Kent, shall have in its business office, and
readily available twenty-four (24) hours per day for the
inspection by Kent City Police Officers, or Kent City Fire-
menj, Gp any, during the performance
of his official duties, a current register of all guests or
inhabitants within such mobile home park, travel trailer
park, boarding house, hotel, motel or apartment house, with
information where said guests can be located quickly during
an emergency.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and
be in full force five (5) days after its passage, approval
