ORDINANCE NO. 'It' ?
AN ORDINANCE relating to planning and
zoning for land use and development in
the City of Kent, and rezoning a portion
of certain land originally zoned by this
City by Ordinance No. 1071, as amended,
as M -A (industrial -agricultural) zone, to
R-3 (multiple dwelling) zone.
WHEREAS, certain land was originally zoned by the
JjCity of Kent by Ordinance No. 1071 of the City, entitled
11"Zoning Ordinance for the City of Kent, Washington", passed
by the City Council on the 19th day of September, 1960, and
WHEREAS, the effective date of the zoning of said
certain land by said Ordinance No. 1071, and the effective
date of said Ordinance No. 1071 itself, was the 3rd day of
October 1960, and
WHEREAS, as required by Section 10.16.04 of
Ordinance No. 1071, the Planning Commission of the City of
Kent conducted a study and- made a report to the City Council
of the City of Kent recommending that certain of the lands
zoned by said Ordinance No. 1071 be rezoned from an M -A
(industrial -agricultural) zone, to a R-3 (multiple dwelling)
zone, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kent did
upon the 20th day of May 1963, hold a public hearing upon said
recommendations insofar as they related to said certain lands,
said public hearing being held after proper notice thereof,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Kent
do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That the following described land situ-
ated in the City of Kent, County of King, State of Washington,
and presently zoned as M -A (industrial -agricultural) more
particularly described as follows:
That portion of Government Lots 4 and 5,
and of the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4, Section
23, Township 22 North, Range 4 East, W. M.
described as follows:

Beginning at the intersection of the West
line of Downey County Road No. 722 with North
line of said section at a point 3559.9' W.
of NE corner thereof; thence along said road
S 9058' East, 257.950 and S 20035' E, 1918.6'
and S 12"03' E, 322.3' to the True Point of
Beginning; Thence W. 659.5 more or less to the
southeasterly line of Kent -Des Moines Road;
thence southwesterly along said road line to
the westerly line of said Government Lot 4;
thence southerly, southeasterly and easterly
along the westerly and southerly line of
Government Lot 4 and the southerly line of
Government Lot 5 to the westerly line of said
Downey County Road No. 722; thence northerly
along said road 600' more or less, to the
True Point of Beginning.
The and it is hereby rezoned to
"R-3 (multiple dwelling"
Section 2. That the City Engineer of the City of
Kent be and he is hereby authorized and directed to indicate
upon the Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent, or
on an addendum thereto, the zoning of said property as pro-
vided for in Section 1 of this Ordinance.
Section 3. That the City Clerk of the City of
Kent be and he is hereby authorized and directed to record
this Ordinance with the CountyAuditor of King County.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and
be in force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval
and publication, as pro,
