HomeMy WebLinkAbout1186VOL4418 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 a 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 1s 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 26 29 30 31 32 AM tl- - ". 5595476 ORDINANCE NO. 1 AN ORDINANCE relating to planning and zoning for land use and development in the City of Kent, and zoning a portion` of certain land annexed by the City by Ordinance No. 1161, "C-3 (General Commercial)" and " multiple Dwelling)" WMWW WHEREAS, certain land was annexed by the City of Kent by Ordinance No.. -1161 of the City, entitled "An Ordinance of the City of Kent annexing to said City certain lands con- tiguous thereto", passed by the City Council on the 19th day of November, 1962; and WHEREAS, the effective date of the annexation made by Ordinance No. 1161 and the effective date of the Ordinance No. 1161 itself was the 1st day of December, 1962; and WHEREAS, said annexation ordinance was passed and said annexation became effective after the effective date of Ordinance No. 1071 of the City of Kent, known as the "Zoning Ordinance"; and WHEREAS, as required by Section 10.16.04 of Ordinance No. 1071, the Planning Commission of the City Of Kent conducted a study and made report to the City Council of the City of Kent recommending that certain of the lands annex- ed by said Ordinance No. 1161 be zoned C-3 (General Commercial) and certain of the lands annexed by said Ordinance be zoned R-3 (Multiple Dwelling); and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kent did upon the 15th day of April, 19639 hold a public hearing upon said recommendations insofar as they related to a portion of the lands annexed, said public hearing being held after proper notice thereof, Ll� 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 IVOL4418 PAGE' I1 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Kent does ordain as follows: Section 1. That the following described land annexed to the City of Kent by the terms of Ordinance No. 1161 of said City, and situated in said City in the County of King, State of Washington, and particularly described as follows, to -wit: The Northwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 179 Township 22 North, Range 5 East, W. M. be and it is hereby zoned "R-3 (Multiple Dwelling)". Section 2. That the City Engineer of the City of Kent be and he is hereby authorized and directed to indicate upon the Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent, or on an addendum thereto, the zoning of said property as pro- vided for in Sections 1 and 2 of this Ordinance. Section 3. That upon said amendment being shown on the Comprehensive Planning Map of the City of Kent, or on an addendum thereto, a copy of said map or addendum be filed with the County Auditor of King County, Washington, and the City Clerk of the City of Kent be and he is hereby authorized and directed to record this ordinance with the County Auditor l of King County.
