O An Ordinance providing for the licensing

City of Kent, prohibiting unlicensed dogs,
and dogs of fierce, dangerous or vicious

as amended by Section 1. of Ordinance No. 1162.
6 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT as follows:
7 Section 1. That Section 2. of Ordinance No. 931, entitled
8 "An Ordinance providing for the licensing of dogs within the
9 corporate limits of the City of Kent, prohibiting unlicensed
10 dogs, and dogs of fierce dangerous or vicious

11 and female dogs in heat from running ng at large within the corporate
12 limits of the City of Kent; authorizing the impounding and
13 des •ruction of dogs; � g , providing a penalty; and repealing all ordinani
14 in conflict therewith,"passed passed September 4, 1956, and approved

December 3, 1956, as amended by Section 1. of Ordinance No. 1162,
16 entitled "An Ordinance providing for the licensing of dogs
17 ithin the Cit corporate limits of the

19 ensities, and female dogs in heat from running at large within
20 he corporate limits of the City of Kent; declaring certain

22 estruction of dogs; g providing a penalty, and amending Sections
23 4., and 5. of Ordinance No. 931 of the City of Kent,'? passed
24 n the 19th day of November, 1962, and approved on the 20th day
25 f November, 1962, be and it is hereby amended to read as follows:
26 "Section 2. LICENSE AND REGISTRATION REQUIRED Effective
27 January 1, 1963 and thereafter, all dogs over four months of
age kept, harbored or maintained by their owners in the City
28 of Kent shall be licensed and registered each year for the
calendar year. No pro -rate of the license fee shall be
29 allowed, except that credit shall be given each owner at
the time application hereunder for a pro -rated amount of
30 any dog license fee paid under previous ordinances of the City.
Dog licenses shall be issued by the city clerk upon payment
31 of a license tax of $2.00 for each dog. The owner shall stale
at the time of application for such license and upon printed
forms provided for such purpose his name and address, and
the name, breed, color and sex of each dog owned or kept
by him. The provisions of this section shall not be intended
to apply to dogs whose owners are nonresidents temporarily
within the city, nor to dogs brought into the city for the
purpose of participating in Jany dog show, nor to 'seeing -eye

dogs properly trained to assist blind persons for the purpose
of aiding them in going from place to place, nor to dogs
retained in licensed kennels within the City."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ive (5) days from and after its passage, approval and publication
s provided by law.
