ORDINANCE NO. 11.3
An Ordinance of the City of Kent annexing
to said City certain lands contiguous thereto.
WHEREAS, in accordance with R. C. W. 35.13, the owners of not
less than 10% in value, according to the assessed valuation for
general taxation of tertain property contiguous to the City of Ken
did upon the 7th day of May, 1962, file with the City of Kent

their notice of intention to commence annexation proceedings for
the property in said notice described; and
WHEREAS, the City of Kent did,in accordance with law, pass
its'Resolution No. 474, providing that the annexation proposed
by the initiating petition above noted would be entertained by
the City, and that the City would require the assumption of
existing general bonded indebtedness of the City by the area
proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, notice of the passage of said resolution was given
to the initiating parties, said notice containing notice of the
requirement of the Council as to the assumption of existing gen-
eral bonded indebtedness of the City; and
WHEREAS, thereafter the owners of not less than 75/ in value
according to the assessed valuation for general taxation of certai
lands situated in King County, Washington, and more particularly
in this ordinance hereinafter described, filed with the City
Council of the City of Kent their petition in writing to have
annexed to said City said described land; and
WHEREAS, inasmuch as it was determined that said land was of
an area of less than ten acres and of an assessed valuation of
less than $200,000, by unanimous vote of the Chairman of the
Board,of County Commissioners of King County, of the County
Supt. of Schools, and of the Mayor of the City of Kent, the
calling of a review board was dispensed with, and
WHEREAS, the City Council did set the 6th day of August, 1962,
as the day, 8:00 o'clock P.M. as the time, and the Council Cham-
bers of the City Hall in the City of Kent,as the place, for
public hearing upon said petition for annexation; and

WHEREAS, said public hearing was had; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that the petition
meets the requirements specified by law and the land sought to
be annexed is contiguous to the City of Kent, and has not hereto-
fore been incorporated in or as a City or Town,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Cduncil of the City of Kent do ordain
as follows:
Section 1. That there shall be annexed to the City of Kent
the following described land situated in the County of King, State
of Washington, to -wit:
Beginning at the intersection of Moltke Rd.(S.248th St.) and the East
line of the W.1/2 of the NW 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Sec.19,T22N,R5E,W
;
thence east along the center line of Moltke Rd (S248thSt.)to an inter-
section with the W.line, projected N. of Tract 37, R.O.Smith's
Orchard Tracts Addn. to Kent,as recorded in Vo1.12 of Plats, Page7,
Records of King Co., Wash.; thence continuing east along the said
center line.of Moltke Rd. (S.248th St.) a distance of 120 ft.; thence
S.parallel to the W. line of said Tract 37, a distance of 155 ft.;
thence E.parallel to the N. line of said Tract 37, a distance of 3C
ft
thence S. parallel to the W.line of said Tract 37,a distance of 27
ft
thence W.parallel to the N. line of said Tr. 37,a distance of 150

to the W.line thereof;thence S.along said W.line of Tr. 37 to the EW

Section 2. That upon the f day of 1962, the

1 annexation of said property shall becmme effective, and the said
2 property shall become a part of the City of Kent, subject to all
3 the City laws and ordinances then and thereafter in effect, and
4 subject to assessment and taxation to pay for any outstanding
5 general bonded indebtedness of the City of Kent contracted prior
6 to or existing at the effective date of this annexation.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
7
8 five days after its passage, approval and publication as by
9 law provided.
