AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
3 Washington, making criminal certain acts re-
lating to police dogs; prescribing penalties;
providing for codification of this Ordinance
in the Kent City Code.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. No person shall willfully or maliciously
torture, torment, beat, kick, strike, mutilate, disable, shoot or
kill any dog owned or being used by the Kent Police Department in
the performance of its official duties.
Section 2. No person shall willfully hinder, delay, or
obstruct any dog used by a law enforcement officer in discharg-
ing or attempting to discharge his official duties.
Section 3. Any person violating the provisions of
Sections 1 or 2 of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be codified as Section
9.02.125 of the Kent City Code.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days after its passage, approval and publication
as provided by law.
