ORDINANCE NO. -2 SFi;(1Rf1
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
Washington, vacating a portion of Railroad
Lane, a certain street within the city lim-
its of the City of Kent.
WHEREAS a proper application was filed by the City of
Kent for the vacation of a dedicated public street of the City of
Kent; and
WHEREAS thereafter, the Kent City Council did, by
resolution fix a time when said petition would be heard and deter-
mined by the Kent City Council or a committee thereof, to -wit:
Monday, December 4, 1978 at the hour of 8 o'clock p.m. in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Kent, Washing-
ton; and
WHEREAS after the passage of said motion, the City
Clerk of the City of Kent gave twenty (20) days notice of the
pendency of said petition by a written notice posted in three (3)
of the most public places in the City of Kent and a like notice
in conspicuous places on the street sought to be vacated; said
notice containing the information required therein by the Laws
of the State of Washington and the ordinance of the City of Kent;
and
WHEREAS the Kent Planning Director has processed said
petition and secured the technical facts pertinent to the ques-
tion of said vacation which includes a sketch of the proposed
vacation and also written approval or rejection thereof by the
water, sewer and street departments of the City of Kent; and
WHEREAS the hearing on said petition was held in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Kent at 8 o'clock
p.m. on the 4th day of December, 1978, and it appearing further
that the granting of said petition for the vacation of said street
will not be a menace or inconvenience to the traveling public or
to any other persons using the streets and alleys of the City of
Kent, Washington,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The following described street within the
city limits of Kent, Washington, and which is more fully describ-
ed herewith:
That portion of Railroad Lane located
cr, in the southeast quarter of Section 12,
F Township 22 North, Range 4 E.W.M., ly-
ing southerly of the north line of Lot
C 17, Shinn's Valley Home Addition, as
Q` recorded in Volume 7 of Plats, Page 22,
r• Records of King County, Washington, pro-
jected easterly, and lying northerly of
the south line of Lot 15, said addition,
projected easterly
is hereby vacated, reserving, however an easement for drainage
and utilities.
Section 2. No vested rights shall be affected by the
provisions of this Ordinance.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
