AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
Washington, creating a new fund to be known as
the "Unemployment Trust Fund", providing for
transfers into the fund and payments out of the
fund.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby created in the City of Kent
a fund to be known as the Unemployment Trust Fund, hereinafter
called the Fund.
Section 2. The purpose of the Fund is to receive peri-
dic cash contributions from operating funds of the City to pro-
vide a source for payment of claims billed to the City by the
State Employment Security Department.
Section 3. Payment into the Fund shall be made by means
of transfers from the salary funds of each of the City's depart-
ments which budget labor costs. Such transfers shall be in an
amount which will provide a sufficient deposit into the fund to
cover estimated unemployment claims against the City.
Section 4. Payments out of the Fund shall be made upon
the basis of billed claims from the Employment Security Department
and may be made either by treasurer's check or by warrant.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days after its passage, approval and publication
as provided by law.
