AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
Washington, establishing a fee for the dis-
semination of criminal history record in-
formation.
WHEREAS Chapter 314, Laws of 1977, First Extra Session,
created a new system for the dissemination of criminal history
record information, and
WHEREAS the procedures to be followed in complying with
the provisions of the Law will result in expense to the City and
will require the use of City personnel to search for, copy and
provide the required information, and
WHEREAS Section 10 of Chapter 314 provides that a rea-
sonable fee may be imposed for the furnishing of required infor-
mation, NOW, THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby imposed and shall be col-
lected from any person or agency, other than a criminal justice
agency, a fee of $10.00 for the dissemination of criminal history
record information as that term is defined in Chapter 314, Laws
of 1977, First Extra Session.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and pub-
lication as provided by law.
