AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
Washington, creating a new fund to be known
as the Criminal Justice Training Fund; pro-
viding for payments into and disbursements
from said fund.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby created, in accordance with
the provisions of Chapter 212 First Extra Session 1977 Legislature,
a fund of the City of Kent to be known as the Criminal Justice
Training Fund.
Section 2. Payments into the fund shall be as the re-
sult of assessments made upon monies deposited as bail for viola-
tions of ordinances of the City, other than ordinances relating to
vehicles unlawfully left or parked.
Section 3. The rate of assessment on monies deposited
as bail for violations of ordinances of the City shall be as pre-
scribed in Section 3(2) of Chapter 212 First Extra Session, Laws
of 1977 or as the same may be hereafter amended.
Section 4. The Supervisor of Treasury Accounting shall
remit monthly to the State Treasurer for deposit in the Criminal
Justice Training account, all assessments received during the
preceeding 30 days period.
Section 5. In the event that bail is returned, the as-
sessment made thereon shall also be returned.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days after its passage, approval and publication as
provided by law.
