ORDINANCE NO. ��5
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, vacating a portion of a public street
within the City limits of the City of Kent.
WHEREAS, a proper application was filed with the City of
Kent for the vacation of a portion of a dedicated public street of
the City of Kent, and
WHEREAS, thereafter, the Kent City Council did, by
Resolution fix a time when said petition would be heard and deter-
mined by the Kent City Council or a committee thereof, to -wit:
Monday, February 7, 1977, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m. in the
Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Kent, Washington;
and
WHEREAS, after the passage of said motion, the City
Clerk of the City of Kent gave twenty (20) days notice of the
pendency of said petition by a written notice posted in three (3)
of the most public places in the City of Kent and a like notice
in conspicuous places on the streets or portions thereof sought
to be vacated; said notice containing the information required
therein by the Laws of the State of Washington and the Ordinances
of the City of Kent; and
WHEREAS, the Kent City Planning Director has processed
said petition and secured the technical facts pertinent to the
question of said vacation which includes a sketch of the proposed
vacation and also written approval or rejection thereof by the
water, sewer and street departments of the City of Kent; and
WHEREAS, the hearing on said petition was held in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Kent at 8:00
o'clock p.m. on the 7th day of February, 1977, and it appearing
further that the granting of said petition for the vacation of
such portion of street will not be a menace or inconvenience to
the traveling public or to any other persons using the streets
of the City of Kent, Washington,

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The following described portion of the
public street more fully described herein:
That portion of South Central Place (a/k/a 84th
Place South and a/k/a Kent -Thomas Road) more
particularly defined as follows: Beginning at
the northwest corner of Tract 30, Horseshoe Acre
Tracts to Kent, according to Plat recorded in
Volume 15 of Plats, Page 10, Records of King
County, Washington; thence south along the west
line of said Tract 30 to a point which lies 31.
13 feet north of the southwest corner thereof;
thence easterly parallel to the north line of
South 266th Street to the easterly margin of
said South Central Place; thence northerly a-
long said easterly margin of said South Central
Place to a point on the north line of Tract 30;
thence west along said north line to the Point
of Beginning; all within Section 25, Township 22
North, Range 4 East, W.M., in King County, Wash-
ington. EXCEPT the west 6 feet thereof.
is hereby vacated with the City of Kent reserving an easement or
the right to exercise and grant easements in respect to the va-
cated street for the construction, repair and maintenance of pub-
lic utilities and services located therein without incurring any
liability for damage to improvements therein.
Section 2. No vested rights shall be affected by the
provisions of this Ordinance.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
