AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
Washington, establishing "No Parking Zones"
within the City; providing penalties for
violation of the Ordinance; and repealing
Ordinance 1956 of the City of Kent.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. NO PARKING ZONES. At such time as the
Traffic Engineer shall place the appropriate sign or signs, it
shall be illegal to park any motor or other vehicle at any time
on the following roadways or portions thereof:
1. East Valley Highway (Central Avenue)
(a) From the Green River to South 212th Street
(either side);
(b) From a point 530 feet north of South 196th
Street extending north 320 feet (east side
only) .
2. Meeker Street - from Fourth Avenue to the West
Valley Highway (either side).
3. Smith Street
(a) From Railroad Avenue to Central Avenue (south
side only);
(b) From Central Avenue to the first alley west
of Central Avenue (north side only);
(c) From Central Avenue to Jason Street (either
side) .
4. Fourth Avenue - from Willis Street to South 228th
Street (both sides) .
5. Kent-Kangley Road - from Southeast 256th Street
to a point 460 feet west of 108th Avenue South-
east (south side only).
6. East Gowe Street - from a point 230 feet east of
the center line of State Avenue to East Titus
Street (either side).
7. East Titus Street
(a) From East Gowe Street to a point 120 feet
southwest of the center line of Reiten Road
(southeast side only);
(b) From a point 120 feet southwest of the center
line of Reiten Road to Smith Street (both
sides) .
8. 30th Avenue South - from Kent -Des Moines Road to
South 240th Street (west side only).
9. South 240th Street
(a) From 30th Avenue South to Pacific Highway
South (north side only).
(b) From 27th Avenue South to Pacific Highway
j South (south side only).
10. 104th Avenue S.E. - from S.E. 236th Place to S.E.
240th Street (both sides).
11. East Valley Highway - from South 192nd to a point
370 feet south of South 194th Street (west side
only) .
Section 2. COMPLIANCE WITH STATE LAW. The Traffic
Engineer is hereby directed to obtain from the Washington State
Highway Commission approval and ratification of any "No Parking
Zone" where required to do so by RCW 47.24.020.
Section 3. PENALTY. Violations of this Ordinance
shall be punishable by a fine of not more than two hundred fifty
dollars.
Section 4. Ordinance 1956 of the City of Kent is
hereby repealed in its entirety.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be
in force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
