AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington providing for the condemnation and ac-
quisition of certain land in the City of Kent,
King County Washington, for the purpose of
widening and improving Smith Street, a public
street of the City of Kent, and providing for
payment for said land.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON DO HEREBY
(ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Attorney for the City of Kent be
and he is hereby authorized and directed to purchase and or insti-
tute and prosecute to determination in the Superior Court in the
State of Washington, County of King, an action in the name of the
City of Kent for condemnation and acquisition of the following
described land, situated in the County of King, State of Washing-
ton, for the purpose of widening and improving Smith Street, a
public street of the City of Kent:
Parcel I (Sundin)
That portion of Lot 7, Block 3, Ramsey's Addition as
recorded in Volume 16, Plats, Page 89, records of
King County, Washington described as follows:
Beginning at the southeast corner of said lot; thence
north along the east line of said lot a distance of
10 feet; thence in a southwesterly direction to a
point on the south line of said lot which lies 65 feet
west of beginning; thence east to beginning.
Section 2. That the acquiring of said land for the purpose
herein mentioned is for a public use and necessity.
Section 3. The payment for the land herein described to
be acquired shall be made from Federal Revenue Sharing Funds, and,
if necessary, from other City of Kent funds allocated for the
e.
Section 4. Nothing in this Ordinance shall be construed as
a waiver by the City of Kent of its right to decline to take and
to pay for said land after the amount of damages has been ascer-
tained and within the time allowed by law.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall tak+� effect and be in
force five days from and after its passage, appgroval and publicat
as provided by law.
