ORDINANCE NO. ANO
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, establishing "No Parking Zones" within
the City; and repealing Ordinances 1286, 1329,
1357, 1414, 1511, 1512, 1558, 1615, 1815, 1870,
1875, 1879, 1895, 1897 and 1929 of the City of
Kent.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. NO PARKING ZONES. At such time as the
Traffic Engineer shall place the appropriate sign or signs, it
shall be illegal to park any motor or other vehicle at any time
on the following roadways or portions thereof:
1. East Valley Highway (Central Avenue)
(a) From the Green River to South 212th Street
(either side);
(b) From a point 530 feet north of South 196th
Street extending north 320 feet (east side only).
2. Meeker Street - from Fourth Avenue to the West Valley
Highway (either side) .
3. Smith Street
(a) From Railroad Avenue to Central Avenue (south
side only);
(b) From Central Avenue to the first alley west of
Central Avenue (north side only);
(c) From Central Avenue to Jason Street (either side).
4. Fourth Avenue - from Willis Street to South 228th
Street (both sides).
5. Kent-Kangley Road - from Southeast 256th Street to
a point 460 feet west of 108th Avenue Southeast
(south side only).
6. East Gowe Street - from a point 230 feet east of the
center line of State Avenue to East Titus Street
(either side).
7. East Titus Street
(a) From East Gowe Street to a point 120 feet south-
west of the center line of Reiten Road (south-
east side only);
(b) From a point 120 feet southwest of the center
line of Reiten Road to Smith Street (both sides).
8. 30th Avenue South - from Kent -Des Moines Road to
South 240th Street (west side only).
9. South 240th Street
(a) From 30th Avenue South to Pacific Highway South
(north side only).
(b) From 27th Avenue South to Pacific Highway South
(south side only).
Section 2. COMPLIANCE WITH STATE LAW. The Traffic
Engineer is hereby directed to obtain from the Washington State
Highway Commission approval and ratification of any "No Parking
Zone" where required to do so by RCW 47.24.020.
Section 3. PENALTY. Violations of this Ordinance shall
be punishable by a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars.
Section 4. Ordinances 1286, 1329, 1357, 1414, 1511, 1512,
1558, 1615, 1656, 1815, 1870, 1875, 1879, 1895, 1897 and 1929 of
the City of Kent are hereby repealed in their entirity.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
