ORDINANCE NO. (G( 4
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Washington,
relating to Surety Bond requirements for public
and other contracts and repealing Ordinance 223.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. SURETY BOND REQUIRED. A Surety Bond will
be required in all public works and other contracts where compli-
ance with RCW 39.08.010 and 39.08.030 is required or in other
contracts where the Council deems a bond to be appropriate.
The Surety Bond shall have as a surety two (2) or more
good and sufficient private parties or one Surety Company. Such
bond shall be conditioned upon the faithful performance by the
contractor of all contract provisions and the payment of all
laborers, mechanics, sub -contractors, material -man and all others
who supply the contractor with any material and/or labor in the
performance of the contract provisions.
The Surety Bond shall be equal to at least 100% of the
contract price and shall run to the City and be filed with the
City Clerk.
Section 2. Ordinance 223 relating to Surety Bonds is
hereby repealed in its entirety.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and pub-
lication, as provided by law.
