HomeMy WebLinkAbout1910ORDINANCE NO. 19 10 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash- ington, providing for the condemnation and acquisition of certain land in King County for the purpose of providing for retention and holding ponds as an integral part of the storm and surface water drainage system of the City of Kent, and providing for payment for said land. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City Attorney for the City of Kent be and he is hereby authorized and directed to purchase and/or institute and prosecute to determination in the Superior Court of the State of Washington, in the County of King, an action in the name of the City of Kent for condemnation and ac- quisition of the following described land, situated in the County of King, State of Washington, for the purpose of providing for retention and holding ponds as an integral part of the storm and surface water drainage system of the City of Kent. PARCEL 3. (Hutchinson): Beginning at the southwest corner of the east 18.6 feet of the west half of the southwest quarter of the northeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 29, Township 22 North, Range 5 East, Willamette Meridian, King County, Washington, being the true point of beginning of property herein described; thence northerly along the west line thereof a distance of 238.84 feet; thence southeasterly a distance of 308.48 feet to a point on the south line of the southwest quarter of the northeast quarter of the southwest quarter in said section; which is 188.82 feet easterly of the point of beginning; thence west along said south line a distance of 188.82 feet to the true point of beginning. PARCEL 4. (Monroe): That portion of the south half of the northwest quarter of the southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 29, 5C Township 22 North, Range 5 East, Willamette Meridian, in King County, Washington, de- scribed as follows: Beginning at the southeast corner of the above described property being the true point of be- ginning of property herein described; thence north 89°46151" west along the south line thereof a distance of 110.00 feet; thence north 50°06141" west a distance of 518.57 feet to a point on the north line thereof; thence south 89151157" east along said north line a distance of 497.90 feet to the northeast corner of said subdivision; thence south O1°43`32" east along the east line thereof a distance of 331.96 feet to the true point of beginning. Section 2. That the acquiring of said land for the purpose herein mentioned is for a public use and necessity. Section 3. The payment for the land herein described to be acquired shall be made from Federal Revenue Sharing Funds, and, if necessary, from other City of Kent funds allocated for the purpose. Section 4. Nothing in this Ordinance shall be constru- ed as a waiver by the City of Kent of its right to decline to take and to pay for said land after the amount of damages has been as- certained and within the time allowed by law. Section 5.
