ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington making it illegal to park vehicles at
all times on the east side of East Valley High-
way from a point 530 feet north of the center
line of South 196th Street and extending north
therefrom for a distance of 320 feet, which
street forms a part of the State Highway sy-
stems; directing the City Traffic Engineer to
obtain ratification and approval of said action
from the Washington State Highway Commission;
ordering the City Traffic Engineer to supervise
placement of appropriate "no parking anytime"
signs; and imposing penalties and fines for
violations of the terms of the Ordinance.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. From and after the effective date of this
Ordinance, it shall be illegal to park motor or other vehicles
at any time on the east side of East Valley Highway from a point
530 feet north of the center line of South 196th Street and ex-
tending north therefrom for a distance of 320 feet, which street
is located within the City Limits and which forms a part of the
Washington State Highway system.
Section 2. The Traffic Engineer is herewith directed
to obtain from the Washington State Highway Commission the Com-
mission's approval and ratification of the terms of this Ordinanc(
as required by RCW 47.24.020.
Section 3. Upon the effective date of this Ordinance,
the Traffic Engineer shall supervise the placement of appropriate
"no parking anytime" signs on said street.
Section 4. PENALTIES. Violations of this Ordinance
shall be punishable by a fine of not more than FIVE HUNDRED (500)
DOLLARS or by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or
by both such fine and imprisonment.

Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication, as provided by law.
