AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, adopting by reference those certain
Codes known as Uniform Mechanical Code -1973
Edition, Uniform Housing Code -1973 Edition,
and Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dan-
gerous Buildings -1973 Edition, together with
certain deletions therefrom; and providing
for the filing of three (3) copies of said
Codes with the Kent City Clerk.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby adopted upon the effective
date of this Ordinance and upon the filing of three (3) copies
thereof with the Kent City Clerk, that certain code known as Uni-
form Mechanical Code - 1973 Edition, with the following deletion
therefrom:
a. The last paragraph of Section 201(c) which
reads as follows:
"No owner or occupant or any other person
having charge, care or control of any
building or premises shall fail or neglect,
after proper demand is made as herein pro-
vided, to properly permit entry therein by
the Building Official or his authorized
representative for the purpose of inspection
and examination pursuant to this Code. Any
person violating this subdivision shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor."
is hereby deleted.
Section 2. There is hereby adopted upon the effective
date of this Ordinance and upon the filing of three (3) copies
thereof with the Kent City Clerk, that certain Code known as Uni-
form Housing Code -1973 Edition, with the following deletion there-
from:
a. The last paragraph of Section 201(b) which reads as
follows:

the Building Official or his authorized
representative for the purpose of inspection
and examination pursuant to this Code. Any

thereof with the Kent City Clerk, that certain Code known as Uni-
form Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings -1973 Edition,
with the following deletion therefrom:
a. Section 201(c)(3) which reads as follows:
"No owner or occupant or any other person
having charge, care or control of any
building or premises shall fail or neglect,
after proper demand is made as herein pro-
vided, to properly permit entry therein by
the Building Official or his authorized
representative for the purpose of inspec-
tion and examination pursuant to this Code.
Any person violating this subdivision shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor."
is hereby deleted.
Section 4. Sections 3 and 4 of Ordinance 1709 and any
other Ordinances inconsistent with the provisions hereof are here-
by repealed.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication, as provided by law.
