AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington authorizing the use of Federal Revenue
Sharing Funds for certain projects and alloca-
ting the necessary funds therefore.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Federal rules and regulations re-
quiring the expenditure of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds, the
City Council of the City of Kent did hold a public hearing on
April 1, 1974, relative to the proposed expenditures of such
Revenue Sharing Funds, and
WHEREAS, it was reported at said public hearing that
the City has received to date $ 687,317.00 of Federal Revenue
Funds representing the year 1972 and 1973, and further that the
City anticipates receipts during the year 1974 of $426,250.00, anc
WHEREAS, the City Council did at said public hearing
discuss and debate various uses to which funds could be allocated,
and did receive and consider comments from the general public,
both oral and written, and after due deliberation did decide upon
certain uses for said funds, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Federal Revenue Sharing Funds are hereby
authorized to be used for and are hereby appropriated in the
amount of $46,550.00 for the following uses and purposes:
a. $13,000.00 - Proposed development of Borden
Park by the Park Department.
The Borden property will be im-
proved by preparing the fields
and installing temporary bleachers
and backstops.
b. $16,700.00 - For the purchase of Two
Police Patrol vehicles and
one Detective vehicle, in-
cluding equipment.

C. $2,000.00 - For the purchase of Storage
Files in the City's vault
according to a comprehensive
file plan.
d. $1,650.00 - For the purchase of a Binding
Machine to replace a rented
unit.
e. $1,200.00 - For the cost of appraisal of
the Benaroya property
f. $12,000.00 - Improvement of Smith and
Central Intersection.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and pub-
lication as provided by law.
