AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington authorizing the use of Federal Revenue
Sharing Funds for certain projects and alloca-
ting the necessary funds therefor.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Federal rules and regulations re-
garding the expenditure of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds, the
City Council of the City of Kent did hold a public hearing on
June 4, 1973, relative to the proposed expenditure of such Revenue
Sharing Funds, and
WHEREAS, it was reported at said public hearing that
the City has received to date $457,198 of Federal Revenue Sharing
Funds, representing the year 1972 and the first quarter of 1973,
and further that the City anticipates receipts for the balance of
1973 in the approximate amount of $304,692, and
WHEREAS, the City Council did at said public hearing
discuss and debate the various uses to which the funds could be
allocated, and did receive and consider comments and recommenda-
tions from the general public both oral and written, and after
due deliberation did decide upon certain uses for said funds, NOW,
THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Federal Revenue Sharing Funds are hereby
authorized to be used for and are hereby appropriated in the
amount of $220,000 for the following uses and purposes:
a. $26,000 - Proposed settling basin in Mill Creek
(Joint project with King County)
b. $4,000 - Engineering for storm and surface water
holding basin at 104th S. E. and
S. E. 267th.

C. $175,000 - South Central Avenue pumping station
providing for protection from excessive
storm and surface water run-off in
that area of the City.
d. $15,000 - Central Business District Improvement
Project to be used as "seed" money for
that project.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and pub-
lication as provided by law.
