VVAN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, amending certain Sections of Ordi-
r_J,-_j• _,.. ' nance 1242 relating to fireworks.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Sub -section 5 of Section 5 of Ordinance
1242 which reads as follows:
"If temporary in nature the stand must have
been constructed under permit from the City
Engineer's office."
is hereby amended to read as follows;
"All stands shall be erected under permit
from the City Building Department."
Section 2. Sub -section 4 of Section 6 of Ordinance
1242 which reads as follows:
" 'No smoking' signs must be posted
prominently on each fireworks stand."
is hereby amended to read as follows:
" 'No smoking' signs shall be posted
prominently on the exterior of all walls
of each stand. Fireworks shall not be
used within 25 feet of each stand."
Section 3. Sub -section 5 of Section 6 of Ordinance
1242 which reads as follows:
"Automobiles shall not be permitted to
park, nor shall any fireworks be used,
within 25 feet of all fireworks stand."
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Automobiles shall not be permitted to
park within 25 feet of any fireworks
stand. Adequate wooden or metal stands
shall be provided to support not smaller
than 1/4 inch rope to construct a barrier
for no parking."

Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and pub-
lication, as provided by law.
