ORDINANCE NO. 1 -7 1 X
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, providing for the condemnation and
acquisition of certain land in the City of
Kent for the purpose of improving and widen-
ing West Meeker Street and West Valley High-
way, public highways in the City of Kent,
and providing for payment for said land.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Attorney for the City of Kent
be and he is hereby authorized and directed to purchase and/or
institute and prosecute to determination in the Superior Court of
the State of Washington, in the County of King, an action in the
name of the City of Kent for condemnation and acquisition of the
following described land, situated in the City of Kent, County of
King, State of Washington, for the purpose of the widening and im-
proving of West Meeker Street and West Valley Highway, public
streets in the City of Kent, to -wit:
PARCEL 1. (Levinson)
The north 3 feet of the west 112.52 feet of
the east 142.53 feet of Tract 41, Meeker's
Supplemental Plat lst Addition to Kent, ac-
cording to plat recorded in Volume 5 of Plats,
page 96, in King County, Washington.
PARCEL 2. (Atlantic Richfield Company)
The north 3 feet of the following described
property:
The east 11.26 feet of the north 150 feet of
Tract 40 and the West 18.74 feet of the North
150 feet of Tract 41; ALL of Supplemental Plat
of Meeker's 1st Addition to the Town of Kent,
according to plat recorded in Volume 5 of
ac
Plats, page 96, in King County, Washington.
PARCEL 3. (McCourt)
The north 3 feet of the following described
property:
All of Tract 42, Meeker's Supplemental Plat
1st Addition to Kent, according to plat re-
corded in Volume 5 of Plats, page 96, in
King County, Washington; EXCEPT the east
60 feet thereof.
PARCEL 4. (Williams)
Beginning at a point on the south line of
Block 28, Supplemental Plat of Meeker's
First Addition to the Town of Kent, re-
corded in Volume 5 of Plats, page 96, King
County, Washington, which said point lies
150 feet west of the southeast corner of
said Block, being the True Point of Be-
ginning of property herein described; thence
north 3 feet; thence east parallel with the
south line of said Block, a distance of
135 feet to a point on a curve to the left
with a radius of 15 feet; thence in a north-
easterly direction on said curve to the left
an arc distance of 23.55 feet to a point on
the east line of said Block; thence south
along said east line to the southeast corner
of said Block; thence west along the south
line of said Block 150 feet to the True Point
of Beginning, EXCEPT the west 135 feet thereof.
PARCEL 5. (Couture)
The south 3 feet of Lots 29, 28, 27, 26, 25
22 and 21, all in Block "F", Supplemental
Plat of Meeker's First Addition to the Town
of Kent, recorded in Volume 5, Page 96, King
County, Washington, and also that portion of
said lot 30 in said Block "F" within said
Plat defined as follows:
Beginning at the southeast
thence north 3 feet; thence
18.80 feet to a point on a

corner of said lot;
west a distance of
curve to the right
with a radius of 15 feet; thence in a
northerly direction an arc distance of
23.55 feet to a point on the west line of
said lot; thence south to the southwest
corner of said lot; thence east to the
southeast corner of said lot to the True
Point of Beginning; AND ALSO that portion
of Lot 1 in said block of said Plat de-
fined as follows:
Beginning at the northwest corner of said
Lot 1; thence east a distance of 10 feet
thence in a southwesterly direction to a
point which lies 10 feet south of the north-
west corner thereof; thence north 10 feet
to the True Point of Beginning.
PARCEL 6. (Beglinger)
The south 3 feet of Lots 23 and 24, Block
"F", Supplemental Plat of Meeker's First
Addition to Town of Kent, Volume 5, page 96,
King County, Washington.
PARCEL 7. (Cummings)
The south 3 feet of Lots 19 and 20, Block
"F", Supplemental Plat of Meeker's First
Addition to Town of Kent, recorded in
Volume 5 of Plats, page 96, King County,
Washington.
PARCEL 8. (Commonwealth Investors Group)
The north 3 feet of the east 30 feet of
Tract 41, Supplemental Plat of Meeker's
First Addition to Kent, recorded in Vol-
ume 5, page 96, King County, Washington.
PARCEL 9. (Norgaard)
That portion of Tract 39, Supplemental
Plat of Meeker's First Addition to the
Town of Kent, recorded in Volume 5 of
Plats, page 96, King County, Washington,
defined as follows:

Beginning at the northwest corner of said
tract, being the True point of Beginning
of property herein described; thence south
along the west line of said tract 3 feet;
thence east parallel with the north line
of said tract to a point which lies 15
feet west of the east line of said tract;
thence on a curve to the right with a
radius of 15 feet, an arc distance of
23.55 feet to the east line of said tract;
thence north along the east line of said
tract to the northeast corner thereof;
thence west along the north line of said
tract to the True Point of Beginning,
EXCEPT the west 146.66 feet thereof.
Section 2. That the acquiring of said land for the
purpose herein mentioned is for a public use and necessity.
Section 3. The payment for the land herein described
to be acquired shall be made from funds provided from the City of
Kent Street Fund.
Section 4. Nothing in this Ordinance shall be construe
as a waiver by the City of Kent of its right to decline to take
and to pay for said land after the amount of damages has been
ascertained and within the time allowed by law.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
